Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Asian Sunday week #22 – winner announcement!

@thuylannguyen Asian Sunday entry:

This is my photo taken during a trip to Sa Pa in Lao Cai province, Vietnam. Sa Pa Town is located in Lao Cai Province, north-west Vietnam, close to the border with China. Sapa Town is famous both for its fine, rugged scenery and for its rich cultural diversity. Sapa is oriented to make the most of the spectacular views emerging on clear days; it overlooks a plunging valley, with mountains towering above on all sides. Views are often subdued by thick mist rolling across the peaks, but even when it's cloudy, local hill-tribe people fill the town with colour.

Australasian Gannet (Morus serrator) flying high above an angry ocean off Muriwai Beach on the North Island of New Zealand. I took this shot with a Canon EOS 50D, and Sigma 70-200 f2.8 at ISO 400, 107.0 mm (169.5 mm in 35mm), f/11, and 1/1250s.

Wow, beautiful shot! The angry waves... the yellow head of the bird adds a nice bright touch to the main tone.

I love it, you have captured a great mood in this image! The smell of freedom without any worries...

Another sunset at Baltic Sea. This time wide angle used to catch most of the horizontal scene with a reflection of the long waves hitting the sand coastline.

Bloody clouds bringing some more life ant interesting composition, as well as stones in the foreground

Enjoy the scenery!

We were in Fiji's Denarau Island, strolling on the beach on one of the resorts. It was late in the afternoon and it had been a nice sunny day, but a storm was brewing. In midst of the golden sunset we could see storm clouds closing in and it started getting windy. I quickly took this shot before the storm hit.

Thank you so much for your contribution. Great shot! Have a good one. Tomas

The Atlantic Ocean portrayed on the beach of Zambujeira do Mar
(Alentejo region, southweast Portugal). The photograph was taken during twilight with the intention to immortalize the waves hitting the rocks ...

Awesome shot! I believe you successfully immortalized the waves... ;)

Thanks Donica @itchyfeetdonica ;)
Cheers!

Thank you so much for sharing this image! What a beauty!

Flower in the ocean.

One of the most incredible sunsets in my life was in Greenland. It was not only incredible overflows of warm colors on the surface of the ocean and the surrounding mountains. Most importantly, we did not see off this sunset alone. With us were sea giants - humpback whales who decided to decorate the landscape with their tails, like flowers that open above the water.

Well, that sure is a very pretty flower:)

I took this image in the El Golfo Valley of the Island El Hierro at sunset. The cool thing about this beach are the numerous big black round-shaped lava rocks. When I climbed along the shore I discovered a huge cliff sticking out from the ocean. With the rocks in the foreground this was a nice motive...

Thank you so much for sharing this beauty! Fantastic shot!

The Statue of Liberty, a welcome sight for so many immigrants to America after a long voyage across the Atlantic Ocean, this icon of freedom still stands out to those visiting New York Harbor.

My entry:

Waters from Papua New Guinea are full of life and colors. You can find here a good example about that we can find as soon as we have the head underwater.

Great! One more underwater photographer joining my challenge! What a beautiful image. Thank you so much for your submission. Tomas

With pleasure when I can submit an underwater photography.

Actually not an Antarctica, but this photo reminds me of it. Completely frozen lake of Galve with surreal fog over it and Castle of Trakai "floating" somewhere between sky and ground. When I arrived to this location, I just stood for about 5 min and enjoyed the scenery... Hope everyone will enjoy this beauty as much as I did.

I found this interesting rock formation on the Cordoama beach in Portugal and had struggled to find the right position on the wet stones, wiping the lens, covering my camera from splashes and trying to capture the contrast between the motion of water and stillness of rock.
