7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Asian Sunday #19 – winner announcement!

@rinawonderlans Asian Sunday entry:

I woke up to see a sunrise, and luckily there is also a little rainbow over the sky, which is rare to see here. It's beautiful eventhought it's not a full one. The colorful sky, give a reflection color to the sea and sand. I took this pretty picture in Candidasa beach, a relaxed spot on the east Bali where you could snorkel.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #19 – winner announcement!

@vinceboisgard Australian Monday entry:

Queenstown is a cute little town located on the south island of New Zealand. It build on the raffle of a gigantic lake and surrounded by the mountains. Here is a capture I shot while wandering around the lake. This man was sitting on the small pierre, chilling by the water under the branches of the tree. I wasn't going to Disturbed, so I waited patiently for him to stand up and leave!

This is a view of the North Atlantic Ocean in Iceland somewhere west of Reykjavik. The reason I don't know anything more about this photo? I was in a vehicle headed to a gorge and glacier in Borgarbyggð. Mostly I love this photo because I almost never get a good photo from a moving vehicle!

Sometimes, if only for a moment, time seems to stand still. It’s amazing to think that 91% of the iceberg is hidden under the water. Iceberg floating of the coast of South East Alaska. It’s a single hand held exposure taken from a moving boat.

Wow, breathtaking capture! I thought it really is Antarctica at the first glance :)

That's beautiful! Wish I have the chance to see this in real life someday!

Thanks. Appreciate your support.

Wow, great shot!!

How cool is it to be able to see that closeup from the water!

That's amazing! Congrats!

Thanks! Very kind of you.

Thanks. Appreciate the support and the chance to enter your competitions !

After very cold period of time the Curonian gulf pretty often get completely frozen. Since it has always some stream to the sea, a lot of ice pieces sticking together in very interesting forms. So that's a good time to go there and have some interesting winter landscape photos.
And if sunset is colourful, you are getting totally stunning views. Here used very low shooting point, so this piece of ice looks much more bigger than in reality

Enjoy it!

Low Tide

2017-12-13 19-37-49 - _DSC5553-Edit_800px-2.jpg

While my family was chilling on Praia do Amado in Algarve, Portugal, I made some scouting around and found a stony beach with the lovely pebbles hidden in the rocks. It looked promising, so I checked the sun position in Sun Surveyor and tide schedule in Tides Charts Near Me and realized there could be a possibility for a sunset photo. When I back there in the evening I wasn't disappointed. Low tide exposed the stone seabed with numerous pools. The soft clouds worked just amazing with the sharp texture of the stones creating together the strong leading lines to the rock.

A fisherman looking for muscles and oysters, wandering around the beach with his knife, walking in the water.

This is the view I had while resting on Uluwatu's beach while enjoying the sunset over the sea.

The man looked like a lost soul in an infinite ocean.

Location: Bali, Indonesia.

Thank you for submitting this beautiful image!

One of my favourite beaches in Portugal is Praia da Marinha at the Algarve. Yellow sand and a steep coastline with lots of big rocks offer beautiful views and lots of opportunities for photographers...

Nice photo! Love the color combination that gives this photo its personality. Good luck!

Stunning as always. Thank you so much for your participation. Tomas

What is the ocean without its inhabitants? All his magic in life.
I adore diving and looking at a variety of sea creatures. The closer they are, the better. This applies to everyone. Even such as these 3-4-meter bull sharks. This is a very impressive sight when dozens of sharks sweep alongside you. If I still have this opportunity, I will definitely use it.
Fiji, Begua Lagoon.

Very cool photo! I used to go diving when I lived in Palau for one year. It was definitely a memorable experience! Good luck in the contest!

Wow, I would have freaked out big time! What a cool image. Tomas

The Portland Head Light guards the rocky Atlantic coast of Maine. I was fortunate to have dramatic clouds when I was here, and the tide was perfect for photographing waves washing over but not covering the rocks. One of those times where everything comes together in a satisfying way. :)

What a beautiful image! Thank you so much for sharing with all of us. Have a great day and stay tuned for the winner announcement coming soon. Tomas

Superb take on one of my favorite lighthouses in the US! The smooth water washing over the textured rocks is just lovely. Good luck in the contest!

Thanks! Yes, I like how you can get down on the rocks here. :D

Baltic Sea

I travelled by boat from Saint Petersburg to Helsinki. The trip took 13 hours and was done overnight. This picture was taken just before sunset and the water looked very calm here. But the sea was quite rough during the night and it was on this trip that I found out that, unfortunately, I can get very sea sick.

So peaceful! Stunning shot. Tomas

A shot taken near Tromsø, the largest city of northern Norway. This is a common starting point for a lot of northern light trips expedition, and sometimes the northern light can be seen shining just over the city.

I was there a few years back! An amazing place!
