The epic hike to the Rainbow Mountain in Peru is one of my most unforgettable trips in South America. It's exhausting to walk on the highland with an elevation of almost 5000 metres, but it's totally worth it when I got to see all the colorful landscapes and lovely alpacas.
Your entries need to be submitted by 8 AM Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.
Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 Steem in total.
Please see the winners of the previous contests of the week and give them your support if you like their images to be the one winning the weekly price and entering the other stages of the 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge. You can vote for them by upvoting their winner announcement posts below:
7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Asian Sunday week #101 - winner announcement!
@jpphotography Asian Sunday entry:
View of the Treasury in Petra, Jordan. While the ticket to Petra is the single most expensive entry fee I have ever paid, locals can get in for free. Many run small shops in the site, but a few teenagers are blocking access to a trail to this viewpoint demanding a fee for a "guided tour" from any tourist who wants to pass. At first I didn't bother, but when I saw them physically attacking a tourist in front of me who had also decided to ignore them and go by himself, I turned back and took an alternative route. Apart from this event, I had very positive experiences with Jordanians, so it is a shame that the local authorities allow these highwaymen to do their sketchy business at the countries' most frequented tourist site.
7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #101 – winner announcement!
@rullicky Australian Monday entry:
Lovely sunset. This photo is from Sunset Beach, Port Waikato, New Zealand. This place is located at the North island on west coast, approximately 1 hour by car from Auckland. This beach is one of most popular sunset places on New Zealand!
@jpphotography Tuesday of Antarctica and world's oceans entry:
Wharariki Beach Reflections, New Zealand. Wahariki beach is one of my favourite spots in New Zealand. At low tide, the rock formations reflect beautifully in the water. Wahariki beach is also home to countless birds and sea lions.
7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – African Wednesday week #101 – winner announcement!
@vcclothing African Wednesday entry:
Camping under the stars while on safari in the Sossusvlei desert in Namibia. We arrived to this camp site for the night, so in the morning we could climb the sand dunes. The days were hot but at night, the temperature was just perfect.
7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - European Thursday week #101 - winner announcement!
@itchyfeetdonica European Thursday entry:
Here's a drone shot of the stunning Durlaßboden Reservoir and the surrounding mountains in the Austrian Alps. I loved this beautiful region of Tyrol. You can enjoy breathtaking views almost everywhere after some easy hikes or drives, and the water of these alpine lakes is usually crystal clear, so reflections are common sights here.
7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – North American Friday week #101 – winner announcement!
@irvinesimages North American Friday entry:
Electric Night. Sycamore Pass lies between Black and Casner mountains and borders the huge Sycamore Canyon complex. This very powerful middle of the night thunderstorm is seen advancing through and over the pass which is a wilderness gateway to the Sedona area. This is the beauty and fury of an electric night. Sedona Arizona USA.

Beautiful example of ancient, pre Columbian art of indigenous people once living in Colombia. I took a photo of this unique exhibit in the Museum of Gold that is located in the center of Bogota, the capital city of Colombia.
Colonia del Sacramento - Uruguay
Colonia del Sacramento is one of the historic cities in Uruguay that has lived through the conflicts between Portugal and Spain. This photo was taken during one of my Hitchhiking trips where the patience not only rewards you with a ride, but also with moments of utter contemplation.

The defensive wall around the city centre of Cartagena in Colombia were build to protect from pirate attack. However, the canon is directed toward the San Felipe de Barajas Fort. I don't know why.
Sunset on Cerro el Morro. Lechería- Venezuela. A place of charms surrounded by trees with a spectacular view. This composition of nature seemed incredible to me, I am always surprised by the beautiful pictures that I can capture with my camera, and I enjoy it very much, it connects me with the beauty of creation.
Beautiful sunset, taken from high
from Cerro Morro, located in the coastal area of Anzoátegui State, Venezuela. This place is a must to visit and disconnect from the bustle of the city. It is also frequented by many people who like to practice aerobic sports, as well as just sitting in front to look at the landscape and abstract.
The Galapagos, Ecuador are filled with all kind of wildlife who do not fear humans. Here my new friend from Rabida island is posing for me. There should be more places like this on heart and animals should never have to fear humans.
Sunset in La Asunción- Margarita Island
Touring the island I stopped to photograph this beautiful sunset between orange and yellow, it was already getting dark but I found it ideal to participate in this challenge
