Hello fellow Steemians,

I hope you are all having a great day! :) As usually, I am here with my daily photo challenge where you can submit your personal images from your travels to Prague and other locations in the Czech Republic in the comment section below.

The best 15 entries of the day will get my upvote. I will then pick the absolute winner of the day from these 15 photos. The winning photo will be awarded with a bigger upvote and it will also be featured as the cover image for the challenge post the next day to give the author of the winning shot some more exposure and publicity.

Don’t forget to add a short background story for your entry with at least 30 words and let me just remind you one more time that only personal images will be accepted in the challenge.

There were many great entries submitted in the yesterday Prague/Czech Republic photo challenge and I had a hard time picking the best one. After a deliberate consideration, however, I decided to choose the following entry by @matkodurko:

I've come across this unusual facade of a church in Brno, Czech Republic. That's what i enjoy about CZ probably the most is that historical feeling in the towns cities. There are all these statues and amazing old buildings behind each corner and it just is super enjoyable and it also yields a lot of good picture opportunities :D

I rewarded @matkodurko entry with some extra upvote. Feel free to visit his blog and check out some of his other entries.

Thank you for your submissions. Have a great day and keep on Steeming!

Some time ago, I had decided to stop wasting money and energy putting up birthday parties for myself but instead going to beautiful locations I haven't been before. Prague was chosen as a long standing desired travel destination of mine. I was really impressed by the beautiful and well maintained old city of Prague. I only wished I had much more than those four days I had in order to make much more beautiful photos. And, of course, collect much more memories.

This is a long exposure photo taken on the beautiful Charles Bridge (Karluv most), a must see I have to say! I was so lucky to see a garbage pick-up truck coming my way so I managed to include its headlight trails so they draw nice lines leading the eyes towards the arc of the Lesser Town Bridge Tower.

Thank you and have a wonderful week!

Thanks so much, Tomas!
Have a great day yourself as well!

Cheers,
Damian

Panoramic photo showing the Vltava River and two of the bridges that cross this rivers. At the left there is the Dancing House, one of my favorites buildings in Prague. It was built in the 90’s, and its style is very different from the classical, baroque and late empire style neighboring buildings.

It is the main square of Prague, surrounded by very beautiful buildings in Baroque and neo-Gothic style, from the Gothic-style castle and the famous astronomical clock. To be seen. This is the cultural heart of the old part of town. Take a few hours to stroll around the square and several streets around you.

Cesky Krumlov
The whole town has a relaxing air. There is nature, there is a castle, which is in perfect harmony. Both the mountains around from the castle, the view from the observation deck (?) On the other side, the landscape of the town were both nice. Although it may be only that, it feels like I could taste the World Heritage Sites in Central Europe.

St. Vitus Cathedral
It seems impossible that centuries ago they managed to build such a masterpiece while now with all the technologies we have we can not build bridges that hold the passage of time 🤔 Beautiful cathedral, which you can climb for a nice view.

Cannon balls, Church of the Virgin Mary and the Holy Angels, Loretánské square, Hradčany, Prague
P1090542.JPG
If you look closely at the facade of the original Renaissance church, you will see something that does not belong there. They are cannon balls.
Specifically, these come from 1648, when at the end of the Thirty Years' War left-bank Prague was conquered (and ravaged) by the Swedish army.
Today, Prague is a quiet city. But when you know where to watch, you can find the traces of ancient struggles.

Charles Bridge
This is an iconic bridge which played a pivotal role throughout Prague's history, and you can really feel that when you walk on it. The details on the structure as well as the statues are really intricate, and show attention to detail. The views are really beautiful, regardless of which direction you look. Even more so at night: it is unforgettable to see the lighted statues with the backdrop provided by the illuminated Prague Castle. The towers on both ends of the bridge add to the dramatic and historical appearance. However, unless you go super early in the morning or really late at night, expect the bridge to be crowded, often times extremely so. There are also endless amounts of vendors and musicians during peak times.

Krumlov centre
What a gem this place is? And how it has remained unknown (to most British tourists at least) is a mystery to me. It's a beautifully maintained medieval centre, with fascinating lanes and corners, plenty of bars and restaurants, all dominated by the river and the magnificent castle. Plenty to see and do (and eat and drink) but wear comfortable shoes on all those cobbles! Great value to eat and to stay in.

Beautiful architecture
Prague old town is full of historical streetscapes. Row after row of beautiful buildings that appear to have escaped the bombings of WW2. The old town square is massive - much bigger than I expected. You can sit for hours just taking in the atmosphere and beauty of the surroundings.
