When i went to royal Madrid palace from outside to inside i felt like came to a new heaven , it is so wow factor about that palace.

I am going to share my trip there with you all with little bit of explanation of the palace and my snaps.

The Royal Palace of Madrid (Spanish: Palacio Real de Madrid) is the official residence of the Spanish Royal Family at the city of Madrid, but it is only used for state ceremonies. King Felipe VI and the Royal Family do not reside in the palace, choosing instead the more modest Palacio de la Zarzuela on the outskirts of Madrid.

The palace is owned by the Spanish State and administered by the Patrimonio Nacional, a public agency of the Ministry of the Presidency. The palace is located on Calle de Bailén in the western part of downtown Madrid, east of the Manzanares River, and is accessible from the Ópera metro station.

Several rooms in the palace are regularly open to the public except during state functions.

An admission fee of €11 is required everyone while some discounts are available for senior citizens and mostly free for junior high school students. Some days it's free for general public as well.

Plaza de la Armería

The square as it exists now was laid-out in 1892, according to a plan by the architect Enrique María Repullés. However, the history of this square dates back to 1553, the year in which Philip II ordered a building to house the royal stables.

The Almudena Cathedral faces the palace across the plaza. Its exterior is neo-classical to match its surroundings while its interior is neo-gothic. Construction was funded by King Alfonso XII to house the remains of his wife Mercedes of Orléans.[8] Construction of the church began in 1878 and concluded in 1992.

Grand Staircase -

Built by Sabatini in 1789 when Charles IV wanted it moved to the opposite side of where Sabatini placed it in 1760, it is composed of a single piece of San Agustin marble. Two lions grace the landing, one by Felipe de Castro and another by Robert Michel.

Unfortunately i could not take the pics of the grand staircase cos security personnel asked me not to take any pics , but i was able to take the pic of the celling which was equally marvellous as well -

The frescoes on the ceiling is by Corrado Giaquinto and depicts Religion Protected by Spain. On the ground floor is a statue of Charles III in Roman toga, with a similar statue on the first floor depicting Charles IV. The four cartouches at the corners depict the elements of water, earth, air and fire.

I was taking some pics inside , but then i was told that not to take anymore pictures as it is not allowed. So sharing with you only those few snaps which i have taken inside.

The ceillings and chandeliers were breathtakingly beautiful , god knows how long it took to build those . It was amaging.

This was the pic from the King Charles III's Apartments , This the view of the main room which is called "The Halberdier's Room, or Guard Room", was designed by Sabatini, and includes the fresco by Tiepolo, Venus and Vulcan.

The above bronze chandeliers were made in Paris in 1846, and installed by Isbella II for her balls. The ceiling fresco by Giaquinto, representing The Sun before Which All the Forces of Nature Awaken and Rejoice, an allegory of the king as Apollo.

The Porcelain Room

Royal Banquette Hall , This is where whole royal family and their personal main guests used to have means. Most of the cutleries were made of either silver or gold with finely designed.

This was the end part of the palace with some royal books were on display inside the cupboards. It was so beautiful , i wished i would have taken some snaps , but still no worries. Those memories will stay with me forever.

This was my royal Madrid palace tour , but not the end of my spain tour.. it will be continued ...
