Must try in Japan: Osaka Kushikatsu (Deep Fried Skewers) (Eng/Chi)
2nd - Kushikatsu Daruma Dobutsuen Mae
Kushikatsu (also known as Kushiage), is a Japanese deep fried skewer meal. It is believed to have originated from Osaka. Unlike other regions (where they alternate two ingredients in a skewer), the Kushikatsu of Osaka is made of a single ingredient.
We highly recommend this restaurant. it has many branch in Osaka, so don't worry, you can easy access it.
It was our first time trying this dish and it was delicious! We are still amazed how a deep fried dish didn’t feel that oily or heavy, and how the skin stayed consistent as we bit through the skewer. Don’t forget to order a Japanese beer and you are set!
Is it like tempura? I really like tempura, especially with beer.
yes it is like tempura . I like it too !
