The Pyramids of Darshur
Some 40 kilometers or 25 miles South of Cairo you will find the Darshur's Pyramids ensemble. Do not expect a normal public transport to take you there, even the taxi formula is not very recommendable because these monuments are in the middle of the desert. Renting a car means that you would know very well the road to there, otherwise go with a travel guide.
In total, it is an ensemble of three pyramids. The two most well known ones were built in the times of Pharaoh Sneferu, and they are called the Red Pyramid, and the famous Bent Pyramid, which receives its name because during its construction, the builders had to diminish the weight to the construction because the soil was beginning to give signs of giving way.
The third Pyramid is the remains of black one, because of the building materials used during its construction.
All this ensemble must be seen as a transition way of building all this breathtaking monuments.
