Credit Card Usage in Paris

I plan on bringing my ATM card and another one or two credit cards to use while on our trip in Paris. My ATM card does NOT have a chip. Will I be able to use that card in Paris or do they require chips? If a chip is better I still have time to get one from my bank. My other two credit cards I would bring do have chips. Also will I need a pin for these cards? I seem to remember several years ago when I was in Germany even though my card had a chip, at a restaurant when they put it in the little machine it was still asking me for a pin.

Just trying to be prepared so I am able to use all the cards I bring! Thanks!
