Adventure is a State of Mind
Adventure is a state of mind, or so they say. When I first heard these words said to me it took a little while to really grasp the concept. But since I have begun to travel, and truly feel what it means to adventure the world, I have come to understand this wonderful saying. And I believe it to be true, as anything can be an adventure if we want it to be. We have the choice to decide how we feel about situations and tasks. So why do we choose boring, uninspiring, menial, when we are going about our daily lives? As humans we have the ability to turn a switch and decide that, actually, what I'm doing today is going to be an adventure.
Yes, it may become difficult to consider something an adventure if you do it several times a week, or even day. Take going to the supermarket for example. It does loose its appeal pretty quickly. But if you keep that state of mind it in turn keeps something going: inspiration. When will my next adventure be? Where will I go? What will I do? And in today's world of technology our options are endless. We can literally ask an inanimate internet service where the cheapest flights go, what mountains are good to hike this time of year, where are the cheapest hotels in the world, and thousands of other queries, with even more results. What's your hobby? What's something you've always wanted to do in your life? Find out where it's possible and you can make it happen.
I do suppose this poses another issue though. With such a plethora of options we face the paralysis of choice. How can you decide when you literally have thousands of options? This is one problem I seem to find my self facing. It's important to not overthink and follow your own path, never mind the herd.
"My heart is at ease knowing that what was meant for me will never miss me, and that what misses me was never meant for me." - Al-Shafi‘i.
Last year I made a decision to perpetually stay in that adventure state of mind, and to see where it takes me. It's been roughly one year since that decision and since then I have moved to the opposite side of the planet, visited five European countries, and have had one hell of a year. My most adventurous yet.

Wow cosmic.cruiser you are really walking your talk here! I love the concept of an adventure state of mind. We can always choose what state we prefer to be in... and it's amazing what happens when we walk into "normal" experiences with a different kind of state in mind. It changes the experience entirely!
