Beautiful places of the planet: Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe is a landlocked African state located in the southern part of the continent between the Zambezi and Limpopo rivers. Most of the country's territory is occupied by wild nature, which is of particular value today.

Victoria Falls.

The volume of water is so large and it rushes down with such power that a cloud of splashing rising into the air can be seen even from a great distance. The wonder of nature is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Chimanimani National Park.

Chimanimani National Park includes almost the entire majestic Chimanimani mountain range, crossing the country in the form of massive splendor with peaks reaching more than 2,400 meters in height.

Great Zimbabwe.

The city was founded around 1130 AD. and existed for two or three centuries. The great walls are massive structures about 255 m long, 10 m high, and in some places up to 5 m wide.

Zambezi National Park

Here visitors can see elephants, hippos, crocodiles, zebras and many exotic birds, as well as see herds of rare antelopes.

Hwange National Park.

Lake Kariba.

One of the outstanding achievements of engineering thought of the last century was the construction in Zimbabwe of a 112 meter high Kariba dam, which blocked the path of the mighty Zambezi River and created one of the largest man-made lakes in the world.

Rock Painting

Zimbabwe - a country rich in rock art specimens. Prehistoric drawings on the stone walls, protrusions and ceilings can be found almost throughout the entire territory of Zimbabwe, and how many more caves with drawings remain unopened remains a mystery to all.

Gonarezhou National Park.

From the park there is a magnificent view of the Chiloi rocks, which, thanks to their red steep walls, resemble the walls of the fortress.

Matobo National Park.

The park is rich in various species of birds, including a large population of black eagles. Here you can find whole groups of baboons and monkeys, as well as other animals.

Mana Pools National Park.

The park is known for the diversity and beauty of the birds represented here, in particular, you can see the small flamingo, the malachite kingfisher.

Chinhoyi Caves.

Here is a giant natural mine 30 meters in diameter and 45 meters deep. At the depth of the mine - a lake with crystal clear water, the depth of which, as proved by numerous divers, reaches 100 m.

Zambezi River

The river provides these areas with electricity, thanks to hydroelectric power stations built on its banks. Hippopotamuses, crocodiles, more than a hundred species of fish and many coastal birds inhabit the waters of the huge river.
