Explore With Me : Kabak Valley - Turkey
Do you ever want to switch off the modern world? Enjoy the nature and its tranquility? Then Kabak Valley is te perfect place for you with its azure mediterian combined with untouched nature.
The valley has been a secret of the hikers for a long time. However the luxurious hotels located on the high locations of the valley with a great view, prevent it to be a backpacker-only zone anymore. It is now a frequent destination for the backpackers, the luxury travel seekers and yogis looking for a peacefull location. Even though it is crowded sometimes, every visitor is looking for a piece and quite whether a backpacker, a yogi or someone else. Everyone is respectful. So you can find the tranqıility you are looking for.
Kabak Valley sits along the Lycian Way, a 509 km hiking treck along the mediterian cost of Turkey- Where you can see the ruins of history, mountain peaks, have challenging hikes or enjoy long trips. It is named as one of the top 10 long distance trails in world.
We spent one day hiking on The Lycian Way. Without knowing anything about the trail, we started hiking in our bathing suits and sea shoes. There are read and White painted rocks that points you the correct way to go. As clever as we were decided to find a shorter way. Well, we did…
In our shorter way, our hiking turned out to be climbing. Like, real climbing. Now when I look back, I can’t believe the rocks we climbed with no protection, no equipment. But it was worth it. The rivers we walked in, waterfalls we showered under, the views we saw, everything was jaw-dropping.
We wanted to experience both camping there and staying in bungalow with a view, so divided our vacation to two sections. The camping area we were staying was really close to the beach and it was filled with amazing people. On the first day we made friends with the half of the camping area and did our hiking together.
Made other friends as well. He is the dog of our camping area. The happiest dog I’ve ever seen, and his name means ‘Box’ in Turkish.
For the second part of our vacation we switched to a bungalow on a higher location. Which had an amazing view. Though we liked our bungalow, camping was much more fun and suited to the valley’s soul.
Kabak Valley is one of the most beautiful travel locations, combining untouched nature with clear Mediterranean water and history.
Hope you enjoyed reading!
That's a pity they built a luxury hotel there...
well they are luxurious but fit to the soul of the valley. The only down side is the valley is a lot more crowded now.
ok already I vote. do not forget to vote back
That looks like a Paradise! :) Any idea how long it takes to walk the whole Lycian way? Sounds like a neat challenge!
Well I haven't done it but Google says it takes 25 days and you have to believe Google :)
It is a paradise found on earth! Do I remember wrong or were you learning Turkish?
Evet :) Ama küçuk biliyorum :P Cumartesi, bir Turkce derse... Pfff... I have only started in November... So, imagine!
You made me smile :) I think you are doing good. After you learn enough you should come here and visit all these paradises. I might make you a list :)
I'd love a list! Maybe you should publish some articles about Turkish language? Just the basics for example :) I'd love that, and maybe others too :P
OH what a great idea! I will think about what I can do.

Want to have your post on the map too?
Great post @cerenselenapa. Hope can be there one day. Greet from Aceh, Indonesia
Thanks for sharing. Very amazing place, it looks like heaven on the earth :)
Great to be so close to nature. the dog is so cute.
Yes he is! He had a tennis ball and never let it go. Gave it to every camper staying there and made them throw it. And his name is Box! So cute :) Thank you for commenting
