Do you know SALAR DE UYUNI?

in #travel3 years ago

Salar de Uyuni is an important lithium reserve and also it has significant amounts of potassium, boron and magnesium.

It is, literally, a PARIDISE!

I've been there a couple of times and I LOVED IT! And actually, I think that this place is special. It feels pure and it gives you so much energy, but at the same time it is scary, and you feel a strange kind of freedom.

How to get to Salar de Uyuni?

First, you need to go to Bolivia.

It is a very nice place but it a politically turbulent country, so try not go there when there are political problems.

Then, you basically have two options:

  1. Go to La Paz and take a plane (it is the easiest option, but not my favorite one)
  2. Go to Sucre, the constitutional capital of Bolivia, then take a bus or a special taxi and go to Uyuni : I'd suggest you take this option as even though the trip is long, the view is very nice and you can see how the landscape changes little by little.

How many days do I need to visit Salar de Uyuni?

It depends, but I suggest you stay at least a couple of days.

Once you go to Sucre, Potosí or La Paz, etc... or in Uyuni itself, you can see so many Tours offers to visit there.
The most common package is the 3 days tour package. Then, there are also the 5 days package and 7 days tour package!

And yes, you absolutely need to take one of the tour packages. It is extremely dangerous to go there by yourself. Even the most experienced tour guides can get lost!
