Sadness in the eyes is visible without words, even with an elephant without ears. 😩
Once driving through a safari park on the African continent, we were stopped by local workers with the question "Did you see an elephant?". Probably we'd better say that we saw it.
After that the black guy asked us to stay in the car and he will bring elephant to us. After five minutes of whistling and screaming, we saw this dull big fellow.
The elephant made it clear that he just wanted to rest and peacefully chew the grass, and not be a toy for the tourists. There was an impression that he doesn't even have a power to straighten his huge ears, they hung like withered flowers at the cemetery.
This sadness enveloped me at that moment.
