Transitioning from beautiful paradise to Hell on Earth

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Having one of the most beautiful beaches and most stable weather, having close proximity to one of the longest river in East Africa, Mogadishu was once considered tourist destination.

The highest temperature is 32 degree Celsius, while the lowest is 23 degrees. This makes it feel like paradise on Earth and people don’t worry about weather fluctuations.

The food is 99% organic with fresh meat, vegetables, fish and fruits, no one has time or resource to keep them in fridges.

The residents of Mogadishu, were know for their hospitality for many centuries until the city went to the hands of warlords and clan-controlled militias.

The calm, beautiful and paradise-like life was switched with apocalyptic, sad and no-better-than-hell life.

The hope of its youth and elders died, while the peace became something the new generation regard as fiction or legendary tale.

The tourist yachts were replaced by ugly-looking pirate ships, and markets for fruits and vegetables were replaced by gun and ammo shops.

The world watched from distance while hope and future of this city died with the peace, while the innocent begged for mercy.

Mogadishu survived from all types of brutality and frightful actions, but now has better future and hopes to be on its feet again.
