Waterfalls in Florida?
Rainbow Falls can be found in the rainbow springs state park roughly 60-90 minuyes outside of Orlando Florida.
Admission is $2 per person and includes entrance to the park all day. There are multiple crystal clear swimming locations that are sure to leave you breathless both from above and below.
After walking along the many trails throughout the park we came across the crystal clear lagoons of rainbow river a clearing in the natural treeline gives way to a spectacular view that is sure to take your breath away. Like its name suggests the water has a unique rainbow of colors, seen best from below the water line. As you look out across the lagoon you catch sight of all its beauty, fish flutter from place to place, turtles lazily make their way to and from the surface as the vegetation intertwines with the rocks and sand to paint a rainbow of colors along the horizon of the river bed. Deep purple meets blue and fades to light greens that give way to vibrant orange rays of sunshine as it penetrates the glassy surface. Truly a site to behold.
After exploring the lagoons its was time to hit the waterfalls and nature hikes. This truly was an experience of a lifetime ( although it did come with its own unflattering experience) while viewing the falls we decided to hop the surrounding fence and clime the falls not only for pictures but to experience the real beauty of these natural wonders. About 15 minutes into the exploration process a park ranger blasted her whistle and frantically shouted very unflattering demands. Her persistence ( about 5-10 minutes into ths) we decided to adhere to the demands and made our way back to the safety of the barricades. A rather unecessary scolding imediately followed our return, focusing on the disrespect for nature and the damage we were causing, not to mention the blatant disregard for any form of safety guidelines.
The park ranger may have had a point and we understood where she was coming from, but what she failed to realise is that the experience of standing beneath the rushing water of a waterfall as it crashed to the bottom was something magical, something that nobody should ever be kept from experiencing at least once in their life. If that park ranger is reading this we formally apologize but have to say that we would do it all again if given the chance. Something that amazing should be encouraged not punished !
Fantastic! (:
Thank you !
