They have kind of a pear like flavor, and are full of nutrition. If you live in the desert, people harvest them. They can be bought in open markets really cheap. The worlds poor eat this fruit a lot because of it's affordability. Most people who try it, like it. Thanks @beccadeals.
Thanks for the added information. I saw them at a local market and wondered what you do with them. Maybe I will try them next time they are at the market. It would definitely be something different.
