Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

This holy shrine is located in a limestone hill, and the caves themselves are said to be 400 million years old. Tons of people flock here every day for various reasons, but by far my favorite is to get pick pocketed by the local monkeys. They just don't care and are not afraid of humans. They will go through your stuff while you're holding it, scavenging for food. That alone makes the 100 meter trek up stairs worth it.

This shot was from inside the actual cave on top of the hill where it opens up for natural daylight to illuminate the area. In contrast, right next to the entrance to this place, you can find the Dark Caves, where it is absolute darkness in the middle of day.

Hey, what a cool-looking shot ♦♦ Guess it would be a unique (& startling experience) to get scavenged by the local monkeys.

Pretty nice picture. When u mentioned 'darkness in the daytime', it reminded me of a Film i saw in which the same occurred .. It was 'PASSAGE into INDIA' .

Ever see it?

Thank you. For fun, here are some of the monkeys inside Batu, just waiting for their moment to pounce :)

Sadly, I don't really watch a lot of movies, so I miss out on a lot of great ones, unless they accidentally end up on Netflix. I've been traveling the globe for the past year and a half, so between work and travel, I have little time for much other media.

Thanks 4 the quick reply. Bet u have a lot of #FUN -- yet it can be a bit 'frantic' at times (traveling & unpacking/organizing etc) .

Neat pic.
