VILLAGE OF CASTILLON DU GARD
On weekends, when we do not want to walk trops away from home,
we go around this beautiful village in the south of France.
It has been occupied since prehistoric times, but especially in Roman times.
You can still see the ruins of an old villae, which was very large and had baths where the Romans bathed.
She served in the Middle Ages as a watering place for animals,
and the inhabitants recovered stones to build a chapel next door.
Now the vegetation has recovered its rights!

But the most sacred in our region, with the vines, are the olive trees!
I never get tired of photographing them,
each tree is unique, their undulating shapes,
have always hidden secrets at the heart of their roots.
They buried treasures during the wars so that they were not looted!
