First time in Asia, first time discovering cities far away from my home. To make it short: it was amazing. In this blog I would like to write about two rooftop bars in Ho Chi Minh City.

I am from a really small country. So being in a city that has more people than my whole country was a challange, but in a good way. It makes you think, it makes you motivated to discover all the hidden and not so hidden gems all by yourself. You have limitless options: from exploring the Mekong delta to having a drink in many rooftop bars which are waiting to be discovered.

It was right after I've finished summer school in China, so me and my friend searched online for some fun and energetic spots to have a great night.

No more studying, let have some fun!! Cocktail time :P

Our first stop was Chill Skybar. Just look at the photos. The main reason people go there is the view of downtown Saigon.

It is situated on the 25th floor of AB tower. This popular place attracts variety of people but make sure to be dressed properly. You should be fine if you put in just a little bit of effort when you dress yourself: this means no flipflops.

Even tough prices can be a little bit more expensive than other places in Saigon, you shouldn't worry. Just come by during the Happy Hour and enjoy lower prices and if you don't want to be pushed from one table to another, reserve a table, so you won't have to move around and wonder where you should put yourself.

I have to admitt, me and my good friend didn't reserve our table either. We made sure that we came there early so we could enjoy our drinks and the view peacfully. We also took a lot of photos. Actually I was professional photographer for my friend that night.

Even though a lot of comments say the staff doesn't appreciate when tourists take a lot a photos, that didn't seem to be the case when we were there.

If you go there early, the music will be chill, down tempo. Only after 10 pm when it becomes more packed, the DJ comes and it becomes livelier.

This was actually taken from our 2nd stop, rooftop bar in Saigon. The 2nd bar is called The View Rooftop Bar. It is located on the 9th floor of Duc Vuong Hotel. Right in the middle of Bui Vien street: the backpackers paradise in Saigon.

It has a small, garden-like setting and it offers a variety of drinks and delicious food. It is also popular for backpacker because it offers one of the cheapest beers in Saigon ( for only about 20.000 VND). The staff speaks really good English and they are glad to help you if you have any questions.
