La Certosa di Padula, anche Certosa di San Lorenzo, è un monastero molto famoso, situato nel comune di Padula, in provincia di Salerno, in Campania, è il secondo monastero più grande d'Italia, fondato da Tommaso San Severino nel 1306, in onore di San Lorenzo, parte del suo edificio memora la morte di questo diacono che mostra le griglie dove fu bruciato vivo, questo luogo è considerato Patrimonio dell'Umanità, dal 1806 questo monastero è stato ristrutturato e arricchito da opere d'arte, dopo i soldati di Napoleone, saccheggiò e aggredì il monastero, questo monastero è importante perché al suo ingresso c'è una macchina, che alimentò l'imperatore Carlo V nell'anno 1534, cucinando 1000 uova, per commemorare quel giorno ogni anno c’è un festival nel mese di settembre.
