3 Days in Rome- Help with Full itinerary
Well, like i told in my introduction, Travel is one of my biggest interests. So lets start the contribution with my travels .
I live in Rome 6 month in 2011 and the city didn´t change since that time. However, i been there again in 2016 so i know the city very well and i do a simple schedule for those want to know the principal monuments and monetize your time in the best way, during 3 days.
Rome is a BIG city, and you need to be prepared to walk a lot :P . They have metro and bus in the city, but if you want feel it, you need to walk !!
First, one of the things very important is the way you go from aeroporto to the city. If you don't have transfers, you can do from two ways.
1- If your flight goes to Ciampino, you can catch the shuttle for Termini. However if your hotel is far from Termini, i recomend to catch a urban bus out side from anagnina, then catch a Subway A and go to the city. It's cheaper and problably quicker.
2- If your flight goes to Fiumicino, catch the shuttle or train. Is the fast way.
For me private transfer is always a great idea to have more time in sort stays.
Day 1.
1 - Depends of the your hotel location, goes to Metro A and get off at the Flamingo stop.
At this stop go to Piazza del Popolo, where it has a famous square with lions and the churches of the film Angels and Demons (well-known as bones).
2- Then follow the via del corso and the 200 meters turn to the left and go to the Piazza of spain.
3- Then return to the Via del Corso to go to the Fontana di Trevi. This Fontan is amazing. Make a wish and drop a coin :D.
Then return to the via del corso and continue to the coloseum.
4- Still in the way of the corso they will find a street to the right and they will give to the church are San Isidro (the ceiling is painted in 3D)
5- Follow again to the via del corso and go to the coliseum.
6- In the road you will see the parliament building. Is beautifull to take a photo.
7- It's a great and long walk but it's worth doing it this way.
8- Go to the Coliseum and the Roman Forum. Enter is always a good idea. is very beautifull and you can fell the gladiator time.
You can go at Night and see the light and do some crazy photos :P
P.S- Suggestion that I throw is to take the metro B in the coliseum and get off in Circus Massimo. (it's an attraction but it does not have much to see) and then go to see the Mouth of Truth.
In this area 2 km away is the restaurant Carlo Menta, but the last time I was there was not so good and I have already referred to another as one of the best, and the price goes around the same thing. The other is called "Dar de Poeta" I know it's in the same zone but I do not know where it is.
DAY 2
1- Early morning go to Vatican. (I do not know if want go to the museum or not, but if you wnat, should go even early).
Go to subway A and get off in ottaviano. in the last sunday of all month is free :D.
2- If you only go in the basilica, I strongly recommend going to Copula. it's 6 euros but well worth it.
3- Then go to the castle sant' Angelo, take a photo, and pass the bridge and walk to the Piazza Navona. Is the painters' square and where there are well-known sources.
4- Then they go to the Pantheon and through these streets.
In the pantheon, after enjoying it, I advise to eat a very famous ice-cream in store Giolliti is even there near.
Then follow the street that goes to the Via del Corso again.
Day 3
I do not know what time the flights are in the arrive and depart, but in this day enjoy the city, and can also go to the Borghese villa that is on top of the Piazza del Popolo and has a very beautiful view, and have great art there :) and you can take funny photos .
. There is also the church near the subway A Stop Barberini, just next door (Santa Maria della Concezione dei Cappuccini), near the Hard Rock cafe. That the church's tombs are all with real bones.
. There is also an attraction that is not very well known that is called the port of the Knights of Malta. It is near the mouth of truth. I can not say what it is, but it's something in which we lurk by the lock and see something (if you not go, the net also says, but do not spoil the surprise) has obviously go by day, otherwise it is not worth it.
But as I said, it's nothing transcendent, only go if you have free time.
I hope that I have helped you or can help you on a future trip to one of the most beautiful cities in Italy :)
