San Pedro de Atacama, ubicado en la región de Antofagasta, Chile; es considerado el desierto más seco del planeta y yo, tuve la dicha de conocerlo por varios días, recorriendo caminos de tierra y piedra, hasta el basto altiplano, dejándome boca abierta con tantos paisajes increíbles, desde pilas de roca y minerales, hasta pozos de agua dulce que emergen de la nada, paisajes en donde el ojo humano se queda pequeño para la grandeza e impotente vista.

Desde el día uno me encanto este lugar, su pueblito “San Pedro” es simplemente mágico, congestionado de turistas, artesanías y mucha comida rica, este lugar es sin duda un sitio que se debe conocer, se debe disfrutar y por supuesto retratar. En esta visita pude reencontrarme con la naturaleza desde el desierto seco hasta un frio de -10 grados en la altura de los Geisers del Tatio, una sensación que pensé no aguantar, pero el calor de los Geisers neutralizaba el frio tan rudo que había ese día.

No me pude resistir a meterme en una laguna que es tan salada que flotas, así quiera sumergirte es imposible, su nombre es Cejar; la sal es tan fuerte que te indican solo estar 10-15 minutos como máximo dentro del agua y no sumergir la cara. Fue simplemente maravilloso, y aunque no me crean el agua era bastante fría. En medio de la nada, del desierto este maravilloso cuerpo de agua aparece de la nada, muy cerca esta los ojos del Condor, dos pequeñas lagunas que simulan unos ojos y estas son de agua dulce, simplemente espectacular; aunque no esta permitido bañarse dentro de ellas.

Algo que me encanto de este viaje fue la gran cantidad de animales que había en todo el camino, la fauna es muy rica en esta zona; sobre todo en el altiplano, vi desde Guanacos hasta unas aves bien raras, los colores de las montañas llenas de minerales fue algo que me pareció espectacular del camino, sin lugar a dudas recomiendo ir y conocer San Pedro de Atacama y sus alrededores.

Un viaje único, colorido, con muchos contrastes; se quedaron cortos los días para disfrutar por completo de todo el esplendor del desierto mas seco del mundo, mi recomendación, al menos 5 días para conocer al máximo todas las bondades que nos da esta zona, desde altas montañas llenas de minerales, arena de desierto, lagunas en medio de la nada, ríos y termas; un lugar único con muchas actividades para hacer, incluyendo la observación del cielo nocturno; ya que este sitio tiene una magnifica ubicación para los amantes de la astronomía. From day one I loved this place, its little town "San Pedro" is simply magical, congested with tourists, handicrafts and lots of delicious food, this place is undoubtedly a place that must be known, enjoyed and of course photographed. On this visit I was able to rediscover nature from the dry desert to a cold of -10 degrees at the height of the Tatio Geysers, a sensation that I thought I could not bear, but the heat of the Geysers neutralized the harsh cold that was there that day .

I could not resist getting into a lagoon that is so salty that you float, even if you want to submerge it is impossible, his name is Cejar; the salt is so strong that they tell you to only spend 10-15 minutes maximum in the water and not submerge your face. It was just wonderful, and believe me or not the water was quite cold. In the middle of nowhere, from the desert, this wonderful body of water appears out of nowhere, very close is the Condor's eyes, two small lagoons that simulate eyes and these are freshwater, simply spectacular; although it is not allowed to bathe inside them.

Something that I loved about this trip was the large number of animals that were along the way, the fauna is very rich in this area; especially in the highlands, I saw from Guanacos to some very rare birds, the colors of the mountains full of minerals was something that seemed spectacular to me on the way, without a doubt I recommend going and getting to know San Pedro de Atacama and its surroundings.

A unique, colorful trip, with many contrasts; The days were short to fully enjoy all the splendor of the driest desert in the world, my recommendation, at least 5 days to get to know all the benefits that this area offers us, from high mountains full of minerals, desert sand , lagoons in the middle of nowhere, rivers and hot springs; a unique place with many activities to do, including observing the night sky; since this site has a magnificent location for lovers of astronomy.
