What to do in Stuttgart on a normal evening

Every week I have to travel somewhere, mostly in Germany. Once a month I am also in Stuttgart to show my face in the office there. Stuttgart is also an interesting city. In the middle of the city there is a construction site that has been going on for years and will take years to finish. It's called Stuttgart21 and I think the 21 comes from the duration in years of the site.
But I do not want to talk about that today. Last week I was in Stuttgart for two days. After a long day of work, our boss invited us for dinner in a location he likes. This is very rare because we are with the Swabians. For those not from Germany, the Swabians have a special stingy reputation, you can say.
We were pleasantly surprised because he invited us to a restaurant directly on the Schlossplatz, more precisely to the Carls Brauhaus.

Für die nicht aus Deutschland kommend, die Schwaben haben einen besonderen geizigen Ruf, kann man schon sagen.

The restaurant has a very good atmosphere. Maybe this is because of the light, which is not very strong but very warm and mild. If you come in you will be received very familiar. Or that was just because they already knew my boss.
What I especially liked was the front door to the toilet. A 30 cm thick metal door. I think that used to be a vault there. Unfortunately I could not find so much information about it. Maybe a local will help me with that.

Das Restaurant hat eine sehr gute Atmosphäre. Vielleicht ist das dem Licht zu bedanken, welches nicht sehr stark ist aber sehr warm und mild. Wenn man rein kommt wird man sehr familiär empfangen. Oder das war nur weil die meinen Chef schon kannten.
Was ich besonders fand, war es die Eingangstür zur Toilette. Eine 30 cm dicke Metall Tür. Ich denke das dort früher ein Tresor gewesen muss. Leider habe ich nicht so viele Informationen finden können. Vielleicht wird mich ein Einheimischer dabei helfen.

The place was full from the beginning. I think you get a table in the evening only with reservation. Because the whole thing belongs to a local brewery, we also tasted two local beers. Not more because you do not make a fool of yourself in front of the boss. I rather like a white one than a pils. For dinner we had all Swabian dishes such as the pelmeni soup. The beer was the main dish.
It was a good evening, I can say. I would recommend this restaurant because the location is top and the prices are not that high.

Das Lokal war voll von Anfang an. Ich glaube da bekommt man am Abend nur mit Reservierung ein Tisch. Weil das ganze gehört zu einer lokalen Brauerei haben wir auch zwei lokale Biere gekostet. Nicht mehrere weil man sich nicht lächerlich machen vor dem Chef. Ich mag eher ein Weißen als Pils. Zum Essen hatten wir alle schwäbische Gerichte wie zBsp eine Maultaschen Suppe. Das Bier war das Hauptgericht.
Es war ein gutes Abend, kann man sagen. Das Lokal würde ich empfehlen weil die Lokation ist top und die Preise nicht so hoch.

I tend to notice the quality of bathrooms of the restaurants I go to. It's usually a good way to find out how classy the restaurant is, in my opinion haha
German beer sounds fantastic! Never had Swabian food. What are those like?
I wish we had German restaurants where I live. I love me some schnitzels and Das boot.

Beim nächsten mal gerne an mich wenden was Restaurant Tipps angeht. Carls Brauhaus ist da eher mittelmäßig.
Wir sind im Mai und Juni 4-6 Wochen zu Hause. Solltest du da in Stuttgart sein, kann ich dir gerne mal ein wenig was von der Stadt zeigen.

Hallo und guten Abend Alex.. Ich habe deinen Beitrag wieder mit Freude gelesen. Ich wohne etwa 94 km von Stuttgart weg. Ich selber war beruflich selbst schon paar mal in Stuttgart. Hatte eine große Gießereianlage bei Benz installieren müssen. Ich kann mich damals noch gut erinnern, dass wir manchmal einfach vergeblich nach etwas passendem zum Essen gesucht hatten. Daher ergreife ich deinen Beitrag heute als sehr informativ. Zumal wenn meine beste Hälfte hier ist ( ist ein Nordlicht), kann ich Ihr auch mal dieses Lokal kulinarisches nahe bringen. Wulle Bier kenne ich noch nicht. Wie schmeckt es? Die 21 Jahre könnten gut stimmen, wer weis, vielleicht auch bis ins Jahr 2100?

Oh dear it’s been so long since I was in Germany 😢 I don’t have anyone to practice my german with
