Hello steemers :)

So 2 months ago me and my girlfriend went on a little one month backpacking trip to Malaysia and Singapore.
We did and saw so many beautiful things and visited many many cities along the way. In the next couple of blog posts I would love to share with you our story from the time we spent there. Enjoy the read :).

FULL TRIP

(land)SINGAPORE AIRPORT ==> KUALA LUMPUR ==> CAMERON HIGHLANDS ==> PENANG ==> PERHENTIAN ISLANDS ==> MELAKA ==> TIOMAN ISLAND ==> SINGAPORE ==> SINGAPORE AIRPORT(return)

After landing in Singapore, we didn't waste much time. Straight away we took a train to the border with Malaysia and another bus to Kuala Lumpur. Thats where we first actually took the time and went around to explore. I count it as the actual beginning of our trip. We spent 2-3 days there, and here is what happened:

KUALA LUMPUR

Ahh, the capital city of Malaysia! With sooo many huge beautiful buildings, a big beautiful park, many market places and hidden corners you are bound to find something you like! You could spend a lot of time there if you wanted to see all that this beautiful city has to offer.

We actually stayed at reggae mansion which is about 30-40 minutes of walking from the centre of the city. We went around mainly with their metro/city train thingy.

The park/city centre

Naturally, the first thing we did is to visit the city centre in which there is this huge amazing park! It's called the KLCC park which is supposed to provide some greenery for the Petronas Twin Towers and the surrounding buildings, as well as bring attention to the importance of nature.

The park is really beautiful and refreshing. In it you can find many water stations where you can refill your water bottle, as well as shade and benches. I suggest you just find a nice relaxing spot, take a break from walking and sweating and just do some building gazing.

China market

Next stop was the famous China market, which was located just a couple of blocks away from our place of residence, which was really nice. The market was filled with sooo many stalls, so many Chinese brand rip-offs (shoes, shirts, pants, fidget spinners(lol), electronic equipment,...), as well as food.

If ever you shall find yourself there, DO NOT HESITATE TO NEGOTIATE HARD!! Or you will be ripped off :P. Trust me we know.

Exploring the market.

Central market / Kasturi walk

Next up was the Central market and Kasturi walk, which are right beside each other. The central market is similar to the chinese market, except its indoors. There you could find so many different stores selling: clothes, trinkets, electronics, gifts, post cards, household items... Basically anything you're looking for.

After the central market we strolled through the Kasturi walk. The Kasturi walk is basically an alley filled with food stalls... They had so many interesting and unique foods to try. They have tables and benches so you can sit down and enjoy your food. It was a nice little alley to find, definitely worth going through if you're in the area.

We tried some durian cake thingys which we didn't quite like, and we also got these green desert sticks. Those were okay :D.

Afterwards, we went to the Merdeka square, which was only a short walk away from the central market.

Merdeka square

The Merdeka square was a really nice and open area, full of fantastic views and photo opportunities. I really love most of the architecture in these major asian cities. And I especially love historical buildings. Merdeka square also has the famous I love KL sign that people like to take pictures with. Here are some moments from there :).

Final thoughts

This city was really beautiful and has my thumbs up. I very much recommend it :). Its beautiful during the day as well as during the night. We also had a free spirit and mixer coupon every night in the reggae mansion hostel that we stayed at, which we enjoyed on the roof top with a nice view, so our nights were set. I will remember this city as a positive experience.
