New: abouttravel #1 – Philippines / Port barton (BEAUTIFUL PICS&VIDEO)
Hello Steemians,
I’m glad to introduce you to a new format on my blog called “about travel”.
Besides fitness, travel is my second passion, that’s why I decided to share some of my travel adventures with you guys also.
Keeping the introduction short as always and let’s travel:
To the Philippines -> today: port barton
Port Barton is a village on the north-west coast of the island of Palawan in the Philippines.
The main attraction is the beautiful beach.
Many restaurants offering great food
(like this sweet pizzeria called gorgonzola)
(or la terrasse)
Port Barton is comparatively unspoiled and somewhat unsophisticated, and that’s exactly what seems to make it an attractive destination.
Port Barton is a quieter, smaller, and more laid-back version of El Nido
There is no electricity, except from 17:30 until midnight. There are no banks or ATMs. There are no doctors or hospitals.
It has in recent years become a popular choice for budget backpackers and other adventurous international travelers, who appreciate and enjoy the remote, rural, relaxed, friendly atmosphere and natural beauty that this quiet and peaceful beachside village
Nearby are numerous islands with spectacular beaches, rainforest and good snorkeling. Local boatmen will take you out "island hopping" for a day for P1200
(1st stop turtle bay)
(2nd stop german island)
(3rd stop starfish island)
(check out island hopping tour video below)
My friends and I stayed here for 8 days, which was relatively long for this small village, most travelers will only stay for a few days before heading to the other islands around. But we really liked the relaxed atmosphere there and we ended staying longer than we have planned.
