Crowdin project for high profile translation | Byteball & Byteball Website
Translators wanted!
Perfect quality translation is of course always important, but for some projects, even the slightest mistake in translation could cause people to lose a lot of money. The Byteball projects are two such projects, and all translations needs to be closely monitored by the team, to ensure absolutely flawless quality.
About the project
Byteball is a cryptocurrency and platform for other cryptocurrencies. The platform does not rely on blockchain technology like those known to cause scalability issues for Bitcoin and other blockchain based currencies. Instead, Byteball implements an algorithm known as Directed Acyclic Graph - “DAG” in short. This architecture results in the network’s performance increasing with the number of users.
Unlike any other DAG based platforms, Byteball already offers a fully functional wallet, a wide variety of bots making anything from sports betting to crypto-exchange a total breeze. Byteball was also the inventors of textcoins - a way to easily transfer assets to users in messaging apps, emails or in print. It offers a unique opportunity to launch ICOs on the platform and recently implemented a “Know Your Customer”-feature, that effectively provides Byteball-baren ICOs full compliance with regulations requiring identification of stakeholders. The features are numerous, and the technology advanced!
General requirements for applicants
Translating software like this, requires not only next-to-none skills in english and your native tongue, but the advanced technologies applied require in-depth knowledge of cryptocurrencies in general and of the Byteball Wallet in particular. Only people familiar with the wallet will be accepted on the translation team. People working on the project are required to join the Localization channel on Slack. If you need an invitation, write to project managers Casper or testz.
What we need
Knowing that 100 % accurate translation is required for this particular project, validation and double-checking need to be done for every language we translate. Therefore:
For any previously translated language we need:
- At least 2 people natively speaking the language to validate it and vote for translations.
For a new language to be added, we need:
- At least 3 people natively speaking the language
- All 3 translators must prove they’re active users of the Byteball Wallet.
- At least 1 of the 3 should preferably have a higher education (university degree or equivalent) or have relevant work experience in technical writing, copywriting, journalism or similar.
What you get
Get in touch before being accepted
New users wanting to join are required to join the Byteball Slack - invitations will be issued after contacting either Casper or testz. When on Slack, join the Localization channel to introduce yourself to the rest of the team members. You can also reach us on Utopian Discord channel.
Closing statements
As a translator of high profile projects, we expect you to be well aware that translation is not solely about translating words one at a time or even a sentence to be grammatically correct. The single most important goal of translating technical projects like Byteball and Byteball Website, is knowing which words to translate, knowing your own culture and national habits and knowing how to get the actual meaning across in a linguistically correct approach.
