RE: Transhumanism: Want to be immortal? How much money do you have to pay for that?
A single pyramidal neuron contains 10^7 tubulin (Georgiev, 2009), each a trinary switch, and so there will have to be a lot more doublings along the law of accelerating returns (Kurzweil, 2004) to get to a technological singularity. I was hooked on memes from networks like SingularityU etc for two years between 2012 and 2014, but they are false narratives, that underestimate nature (rather than overestimate technological progress. )

Memory bytes in microtubules within the brain cortex: 6-tubulin memory blocks on a 4-start B-lattice (my work)
Memes that are the loudest in ordering genes to replicate them have a survival advantage, for example, memes that propagate by promising "eternal life" on one hand, and threatening annihilation on the other. One reason I got absorbed by memes from SingularityU and similar was because I felt like exponential technologies were happening everywhere except in the legal system.
