The Ghost Train of Old Ely
Oh my! We had quite a time visiting the Northern Nevada Railway!
My wife- @jennybenny and Jacob (aka Mr Benson or Catboy)
Mr Benson is a three year old foster child we have had since he was a few months old. He has become a member of the family. Since he is obssessed with Thomas the Train, the trip to Ely, Nevada to ride the Ghost Train of Old Ely was a neat experience for us all! 🚂
Before the train ride, we walked around the railyard. The indoor pics are at the engine shop where they work on the trains and other equipment. It was quite a sight to behold the 100+ year old steam locomotives up close! The wheels on #40 stand almost 5 feet high!
Time to board the train. There was a conductor that was all dressed up and played the part. I didn't get his picture. He was very serious and within character.
Here is Tom, our humble narrator
The train took us west next to Highway 50 and up to Robinson Mine. It is still an active copper mine
This is what they did with horse thieves a hundred years ago. Train robbers got the same
There were 2 tunnels on the ride. Enjoy this short video as Mr B and his Hot Mom go thru the tunnel
Pretty cool huh!
WOO WOO!! GOODBYE! HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE RIDE
That was definitely cool! The little guy wasn't scared of the tunnel at all eh?
Nope. He loved the whole thing. We were all like little kids on this trip!
