Bullet Train in United States (Old Picture Album #11)
For a long time, I thought that the Shinkansen in Japan in 1964 was the first bullet train in the world. Well, I was wrong. The Burlington Zephyr passenger train in 1934, between Denver, Colorado, and Chicago, Illinois was considered the first bullet train in the world. It is diesel powered railroad train. It could reach the speed of 112 mph.
1930s was the heyday of US railroad. I have some pictures of the Pioneer Zephyr train and some designs of the locomotive. I love manufacturing designs and I hope you like them too.
