RE: How to recognize the fruit in the market is good
Looking at the condition of fruits/vegetables we get in the market these days, I was thinking, our future generations won't even be able to know how a real apple or a real mango looks like. Because whatever would be available would be injected. The color, the taste, everything would be artificial. Some major issues to be blamed are overpopulation, environmental degradation, greed, and of course, the dearth of agricultural land, plight of farmers.
While I was thinking all this, it struck me, why not save some pictures of "real" edibles (pictures showing both from inside and outside), like a digital library for them, so that at least they know how the real thing looks like and can compare it while buying them in the future. It will act as a standard chart that guides them while shopping. It's unfortunate we can't impart them the real taste though, but we can at least help them with the appearance.
Now, most would argue that why disappoint them by showing what they can't have. Well, the idea is not disappointing them, rather making them aware that this is what they should be getting in reality, which they aren't because there are factors that need to be addressed. If they don't know there is a problem, how will they even attempt to solve it?
And, hopefully, with some efforts, they will be able to enjoy and relish what their ancestors took for granted!
