Ruff is a platform designed to improve commerce by combining the Internet of Things and blockchain technology.
What is IoT -
Internet of Things (IoT) is a system of connected physical objects that are accessible through the internet. IoT is the network that enables interconnections between any ordinary physical device or objects. It could be a person with a heart monitor or an automobile with built-in-sensors. In short IoT is objects which can collect and transfer data over a network without manual assistance or intervention. The embedded technology in the objects helps them to interact with internal states or the external environment.
Why we need IoT?
An article by Ashton published in the RFID Journal in 1999 said, “If we had computers that knew everything there was to know about things - using data they gathered without any help from us - we would be able to track and count everything, and greatly reduce waste, loss and cost. We would know when things needed replacing, repairing or recalling, and whether they were fresh or past their best. We need to empower computers with their own means of gathering information, so they can see, hear and smell the world for themselves, in all its random glory.” This is precisely what IoT platforms does for us. It enables devices/objects to observe, identify and understand a situation or the surroundings without being dependent on human help.
Now you understand the importance of the IoT in our life and how in future there will be n number of devices per person which suppose make human life simpler. But there are problems with current IoT devices, network, such as communication problem between two IoT devices. It’s not just among different product types but also among products belonging to the same types as well.
The Internet of Things often proves an isolated, closed system wherein wide area IoT and local IoT are unable to interact. Privatized industrial systems and IDC-based IT networks are difficult to connect. However, IoT data often requires high consistency and security, which is a problem that no centralized technology can readily solve.
There are standard protocols implemented on the hardware level but lacks when it comes to the application layer. There is need of single/common platform or technology where all different IoT devices can communicate without any problem, and we can enjoy the full benefits of IoT like we are enjoying with internet. What is needed is the introduction of operating system and middleware concepts, compatibility with the fragmented spectrum IoT hardware devices, and a unified programming interface.
Modern IoT technologies are often accompanied by redundant nodes and mixed up clouds, but blockchain offers the possibility of a total solution to consistency and security issues. Unfortunately, blockchain development currently suffers from lack of infrastructure, high technical threshold, and excessive technical risk. So far, there are no mature solutions to the scalability problems that are frequently pointed out. As a result, the current distributed app development is sparse and remains at the virtual level, not yet having real world interactivity.

Within the Ruff ecosystem, one or several types of tokens are generated as a standard of settlement. Consumers consume tokens during property or data transactions. Use of equipment rights and data generating transactions will also be settled using tokens. Any Ruff-based smart contract can claim its own token for settlement.
Ruff token is listed and currently trading on Huobi, Gate and Fex. And current token price is $0.106331 per token. Total supply of Ruff token is 1,840,000,000 RUFF and circulating supply is 921,800,000 RUFF.

first of all this is a wonderful article and also ruffchain has been operating For more than two years that's really awesome. That's a clear indication that ruffchain knows what they are doing.
It is quite interesting being in business for 2 whole years. I can see they have some movement in CMC as well.

Since 2014, ruff chain have come quite a long way and have achieved a lot since then. Although they still have so much more to accomplish and also capture the IoT market.

I figured out that they are a service rendering platform, its worthy to note that service rendering platforms are very profitable both in the crypto and conventional world
Yep this is a fact which is why I think this is a project that has some very big potential because their in a position to offer a real platform for services to be developed on top of and as a basis to have expansive service offerings.
