[Winners!!] 🏆🌍 First Tiny Planet Contest! - Symmetry (4 SBD price money)

A big thank you to the participants joining my first #tinyplanet contest! To me, it was all about tiny planet awareness and education. And I think we succeeded here! After long deliberation, I have decided on the following winners:

• Winner (2.5 SBD): @timmm

@timmm has the advantage of owning a 360 camera and that made it much easier for him to create a tiny planet. A few reasons that I have chosen this photo to be the winning one. The weird distorted lines caused by the beams & poles are the main reason for me wanting to have a 360 camera and create my own #tinyplanets. He put the camera in a non-standard location and created a symmetrical and weird view at the same time. On top of that, he made the effort to photoshop himself from the photo. I think the shade gives away his true hiding spot, though ;)

• 2nd place (1 SBD): @jctdesign

I like the effort that @jctdesign took to make this tiny planet. It wasn't part of my plan to have people spend a large amount of time creating a #tinyplanet. With a standard app, you could do it in a few minutes. But @jctdesign found a pretty good tutorial to do it in photoshop and did it by hand. Although his planet suffers a bit from faux symmetry, I wonder if you can find the spot where both ends of the panoramic photo are stitched together. If I see it correctly, he had to "move mountains" (and buildings) to make that happen.

• 3rd place (0.5 SBD): @jarol

@jarol used a DSLR with a fisheye lens to shoot this photo. You can tell the benefits of a camera like that versus a standard 360 camera where the edges lose quality. The stitching is perfect here, and symmetry is present. The only reason that it didn't end up higher is because that there isn't much going on on this planet. If only it would reflect the thrill of wake-boarding more!

I enjoyed seeing all these different approaches to creating a #tinyplanet. We had 360 cameras, normal cameras with fisheye lenses, photoshop and specialised tiny planet apps. Every approach has his challenges and it was fun to see these come up in this contest.
