The Beauty of Mayana Peak, San Carlos city Negros Occidental,

What is your activity that is good for the soul escapade? Well for me, it will always be hiking and swimming. So last year we planned with my friends to go hiking in Mayana Peak located in San Carlos city Negros Occidental, just an hour bus ride from Bacolod South Terminal. Before getting at the top, we have to ride in what they called Habal-habal and mind you it was a real bumpy ride.

But dont you worry because you’ll be safe with the manong driver. At the base of Mayana Peak, there will be natives who will be your tour guide going to the top and back. Just a few reminders before going into hiking, always bring plenty of water, towels, food and cameras.

You might missed the view so might as well bring some good memories. So for me, hiking is the very best therapy in all the stress from work and from the city life. While climbing up, I guess my energy got lost and it was just 4minutes trek and we weren't at the middle of the mountain yet. But it was fun because Im with my friends so I just get going until we reach the peak. And getting there was breathe-taking as you can see the magnificent creation of our Dear God.

It was a good experience and I must say it was tiring yet memorable. Mayana Peak was derived from the Mayana plants that grow at the top of the mountain. Did you know that it is also a medicinal herbal that has so many uses especially by the natives as alternative to the synthetic products?

The place is good for first time hikers and feeling hikers, just kidding. There's more in Negros Occidental that are waiting to be discovered.
