I always thought it was a useless part of our bodies. A couple of my friends have had their appendices removed and they are as fine as one can be.
It's nice thought that we are learning new things all the time. Will save more lives in the future.
Yes, people will be mostly fine... however their immune system will not function at its highest capacity... in most cases they have nothing to worry about, but it can leave some people more susceptible to certain diseases...
