Tiger Woods accelerated after an impressive opening in the Valspar golf championship

Tiger Woods said the flow of juices after starting his Valspar golf championship campaign.

A scrapped Tiger Woods said that the juices flow after a strong start of his campaign in the Valspar league. The 14-time main champion requested a 70 under par for the eighth place in Palm Harbor, Florida on Thursday.

It was a total change for Tiger Woods, who had five birdies with four bogeys at the end of the first round together with the champion Masters Sergio Garcia and three shots behind the leader Corey Conners.

"The flow of (juices), I am accelerated, I love the competition," said Tiger Woods after his turn.

"I have a great game this week, Jordan (Spieth) and Henrik (Stenson) are two great players, very competitive, they have had great years."

"I like it when the couple is a good score, it's a reward," said Woods. "There are some tournaments when [after] four holes do not make birdies and you feel like you're behind.

"Today I made a couple of birds, which suddenly put me fourth, fifth immediately, it is so difficult.

"It's the reward to go out and have a couple of birds here and there and I like that kind of challenge."

"I feel satisfied with every aspect of my game," he continued. "I drove well, today I did a lot of good shots and I had a good speed on the putts, I thought I did really well today in general".

NERVY MOMENT

Tiger Woods - making his first appearance at Innisbrook since 1996 - survived a moment of nervousness when his left arm hit a tree.

The 42-year-old, whose career was derailed by back injuries, pulled his T-shot on the 16th hole of par 4 when the ball ended in front of a tree.

Trying to get out of trouble, Woods made contact with the tree, but the American star avoided the wounds as his club flew through the air.

"He did not feel very well," added Woods. "I moved all the people and even warned them in case the club broke down and got there."
