Floating in a dream as ETA Award Excitement Mounts

I have been so excited that I was nominated for 3 awards at the Emerging Toronto Artist Awards this year.

In many ways ETA Awards last year was the kick start for me getting out there with my art...  Long story short... I went to the ETA Awards show last year... was inspired by the other artist...  followed some of them... on in particular was doing another show the RAW Artist showcase I looked into their site... and there was a button... submit your work here... LOL...

So I did...  Since then I have done two RAW artist shows in Toronto & an Appreciation of the Arts show in St. Thomas Ontario.

And most recently I did submit works to the Emerging Toronto Artist and was nominated for 3 awards :) So exciting

First work nominated was
"Dream Tree"
Nominated for Composition
Creative storytelling through imagery. Artist demonstrates an attention to micro detail in the placement of elements within the composition with an awareness of colour, structure, balance and semiotics. Similar to a set designer, composer, house stager etc. the artist has immersed the viewer in an alternative reality.

The second work nominated was
"TTC Ride"
for Artist Voice

The artist uses imagery and semiotics successfully in their attempt to communicate personal views or make social commentary regarding current/relevant issues, for example, philosophical, ethical, metaphysical, moral, psychological, ecological or sociological.

The Third Nomination was for
"Thriving Artist Award"
The ThrivingArtist award focuses on the artist's self-promotion. It is our signature category, whose winner is determined by a series of online voting & audience participation. The winner will be an artist who demonstrates strong social media skills, poistivity & success-driven business mind set towards their art career. 

This one I got to chose something to submit for a voting process...

The big excitement for this one is that voting has opened for this.  I would love to make it through the first round...  The first round will select the 16 most voted on pieces to continue on to round two (out of 50)

When voting you get to select your favorite 3 on each page...  so you get to select multiple images... which is great since it really is hard to select between such amazing works...  I love them all and wonder how I am part of this group...
