Vlog 431: New Steem is coming. Are you ready?
Things are going to change around here.
It's been inevitable, I just didn't think it would take this long.
Steemit Inc. under the leadership of @elipowel is showing amazing progress improving and developing the chain and our community itself keeps delivering amazing applications and products showcasing the power of Steem FAR beyond the blogging space.
I'm happy my foundation is in place because I believe it's going to be much harder to build a foundation moving forward.
In short: Earning STEEM blogging about your cat is going to end soon and a new dawn of Steem will arise.
I have talked about this for years.
And I'm already exploring new opportunities regarding that.
I want to onboard companies and non-profits to Steem for Fiat (WHAT?!).
I know it might sound crazy but it's not really.
HF21 will ensure the longevity of the chain with the SPS and makes a better value proposition for investors.
HF 22 will ensure it's growth. Light Accounts being a major deal (onboarding through exciting social media accounts).
And apps with real-life applications and benefits for companies and non-profits will want them to come to Steem.
And everyone that comes to Steem will have to have access to one thing: RC's.
Steem is not 100% ready yet for this future and neither am I, but it's nearing ready.
But I want to be ahead of the herd. I'm exploring these options today.

Good thoughts. Here in Switzerland if you can prove that you go to the gym three times a week our very expensive and obligatory medical insurance will pay for half of your gym fees.

I am pretty impressed with the direction that Steemit Inc has been heading as well. Especially with the new management. It is definitely a breath of fresh air compared to what we were getting.
Costs Reduction, revenue Models, MIRA, Hivemind already in place. HF21 = very soon. And SMT's, light accounts and communities on the horizon. Things are moving!
I agree with a lot of what you are saying and always if I feel a bit fuddy about steem I watch a blog of yours.
What scares me a bit though is the loyality of the projects to the steemchain. We have been loosing projects before and I guess we will again.
How do you think this could be fixed?
I'm sure it will be! Many use the blockchain only as a launch pad. It's going good, up and away!

When I still had my business, I have lost clients myself, I have gained clients from other companies. Sometimes clients come back after some years.
It's normal for businesses, I guess it's normal for blockchains.
Ultimately companies, businesses, non-profits, developers will want to be where the users are. And they are currently on Steem.
It will fix itself.
If you are talking about delegations from Steemit Inc. to grow a business that's also being addressed. It won't be so easy in the future to get it.

Basically, what you did is what the majority of us struggle to do, explaining "such a complicated thing" to people who have no idea that could even exist.
On the contrary to you, I´m horrible at explaining, maybe because I lack experience, not only explaining blockchain but in all matters of my life (for example, university).
People will not always be able to earn steem blogging but they will be able to earn SMTs in their respective communities. That’s what will keep them coming.

And you still can! Earning STEEM with them will be harder though, although a Cat tribe might be the way to go!

This was a great talk eyle. Super inspiring. Work has kept my focus away from the blockchain for over a year now but Im having some changes in my working life at the moment and this post has really got me thinking....
Im not an especially tech savvy person. I don't have a great understanding of the deeper concepts of the blockchain, but I have always seen its incredible world changing potential. Especially STEEM. Because of the community, because of the Steemfest, because of real human beings and now because of all the applications and tokens built on top. Its so vibrant. And now you are talking about business models which could (and should!) see huge partners come on board and potentially turn this blockchain in to a significant global player.
What I want to know is, is there already in existence (or would you be able to put together....) a comprehensive article that gives people like me a solid run down of everything I would need to know in order to be able to communicate the potential of the blockchain to someone with no knowledge of crypto. If I knew my points and could effectively answer all the common concerns, I could potentially make a good consultant - even just with small businesses or people I meet. Its about HOW this can work for peoples actual lives, and your example with fitness is incredibly potent. That is something I could really get behind.
In terms of financial investment, Im afraid Im a long way off being able to build my steembase but soon I am going to have far more time on my hands and I would love to be able to contribute to the growth of this fantastic platform. x
