Lack of electrical energy availability is directly correlated with level of poverty throughout the world. Nuclear power is the most energy dense available, beating the finest fuel by 1 million times!! Thorium is especially abundant, and it's properties make it a great candidate.

There is more energy is the Ash pile of coal in the form of thorium than there was in the coal which was burned!!!

Also Thorium and Uranium power the molten core of the earth. 5000 Tons of thorium could power the entire planets energy consumption in every form, for an entire year. A single rare earth mine in America brings more than that up as a byproduct. Plus US gov has massive stockpiles from cold war era.
