Do you want to convert people to your world view or discuss it?

I'm not sure why there is so much polemic here on Steemit. It looks like a kind of soapbox. Have you ever been to Speakers Corner in London, England?

When I was there there was a woman talking about how people who don't have brown hair, and some other features I've forgotten, are not truly English. She was getting heckled by a few people who were watching her. There was a group of Islamic men, one of which was saying something about how everyone who is not Muslim is evil. A lot of people were heckling them too.

Then there were two men doing a kind of comedy routine. They each had signs, one said "No", the other "Yes". They were kind of play fighting, taking turns to stand on a short ladder saying their word. "No no no no no!" and the other guy would say "Yes! YES!". It was pretty funny, I suppose you would call it trolling nowadays.

Then there are post which are kind of about very little (free hugs?) or way to technical about the platform.

I guess I'm looking for a way to find articles which are not preachy . Are there any kind of clubs on Steemit or groups? I saw there were trails and things, I don't want to join a chat. Maybe I just have to follow the right people so anyone who thinks along these lines maybe write a comment and I'll follow you.
