Talk of the Line #4 (4-24-2018 Recap) -@thesteemengine Live Curation Voice Chat

in #thesteemengine7 years ago (edited)

Voice chat is one of the great features of Discord that often goes underused.

At @thesteemengine, we're all about connecting users in order to improve engagement across Steemit. Yesterday, we hosted the second edition of our new Talk of the Line segment, where we invited members to come on a voice channel in our Discord server and talk about their most recent posts!

This week, due to celebrating the end of his basketball season, @AwakentoLife was unable to host, so Petra (@zen-art) stepped in and did a wonderful job of co-hosting alongside @ethandsmith.

Talk of the Line #4

If you missed the segment, you can listen to the entire episode here:

Here's a recap of what you missed:

The Curation Segment:

@calumam shared what's been going on in the @BuddyUp community!

@artemisnorth shared the latest installment of her Paddling Nature Ramble.

@crazybgadventure shared his recent objective look at the activities of grumpycat and madpuppy across the Steemit platform.

@dreemsteem shared her thoughts on transparency.

@crazybgadventure also shared about how he was able to mentor someone in order to avoid future plagiarism.

@dreemsteem also shared about @scuzzy, a user who has provided many great free graphics for use on your blogs!

@calumam shared some of his personal thoughts about human expression.

@zen-art shared her logo entry for the upcoming Beyond the Veil newsletter!

@ShadowsPub shared her most recent blog under her pseudonym @pathtosuccess.

Finally, @andysantics48 ended the broadcast by reading one of her most recent poems.

Chatter

It's always fun to see what happens in the spaces between members sharing, and this week, insanity ensued when I shared a YouTube playlist of my band's recent performance, which led @crazybgadventure to venture further into my YouTube channel and discover videos from the distant past.

One of those videos is a project I worked on for my 9th grade English class, which is called Star Wars Meets Romeo and Juliet, a retelling of Shakespeare's classic tragedy with lightsabers. I personally do not appear in the film, but I did write the entire script, film most of the movie, and perform the editing (which does indeed include lightsaber sound effects). So if you're in need of a laugh, I encourage you to watch the film here and be sure to let me know what you think:

There are all sorts of things on my YouTube channel that we talked about, so if you also want to delve into my past videos, I invite you to do so.

In Closing

It was another great session. It was a pleasure to host the show with Petra this week, and we had a great audience. I hope you'll take the time to listen to the recording of the broadcast, especially the sections about my hilarious old YouTube videos.

Sure thing! I'll go update the post now.

Yay :) Thanks! We all do better on our shows when people start realizing they all can be seen at the same place! :) Or at least that's my theory and I'm sticking to it!

Thank Ethan! I always enjoy your show!

Nice recap my friend, one of these days I will try and get in a position where I can actually participate but it is tough because it falls right in my work time.
