I'm studying undergrad neuroscience atm. Also i'm writing a blog article on the mind/body problem for class which will end up on my page when its finished at the end of the week. I think consciousness cant be uploaded to a computer. in fact any "computer" is within the realm of reality and we are something else.

I would definitely like to do a kind of personality/memory bank upload thing and converse with an Ai entity that mimics me though that would be cool.
the brain preserving thing is interesting. perhaps a brain transplant first. I'm kinda holistic though. mind, body and spirit are inseparable.

in spirit not necessarily A spirit. I'm assuming your saying that meaning god. god is derivative. a personified thought like everything else.
while my major is science i'm not sure i would call myself a man of science much these days. science is a philosophy it just happens to be very useful in a material world.

I was going to say at the moment, however Melissa Loomis is controlling a robot hand that isn't actually attached to her, so that statement doesn't ring true for her.
The mind is the spirit. Spirit is the name we give to our own acknowledgement of ourselves... if you wanna get philosophical about it! 🤣

ya the mind/body is for a class called Historical Narratives: Foundations of Modern Psychology. I'm interested in cognition, not into morals but some metaphysical philosophy.
i more modern terms the body refers to physical reality and the brain while the mind refers to the internal subjective experiences of intangible intellectual things like rationality and logic or imagination. how they come to interact isn't fully understood by science.
i like your definition of spirit. i think of it as energy or awareness.
I'm guessing Melissa Loomis still has an entire body and nervous system.
