I've had kind of a crappy week, at what I hope is the bottom of a chronic illness flare than has been going on for a few weeks. Today feels like yesterday was the bottom, hopefully it will keep going in that direction.

I'm still a little bit behind in getting posting back up to speed because of that, though after this it will be just one post that's overdue and I hope I can get that done yet today. Meanwhile I've been neglecting working on automating the stats posts in order to set up some curation experiments so they can run through the next week or so. It looks like some of the higher curation I was seeing was a feature of particularly low traffic after the hard fork and it's slowing down again, which is unfortunate, but I'm also learning some more things about how to optimize for it and maybe that will help.

Part of the problem might be that our posting itself is way down and we've had many more crossover votes than is ideal. Since crossovers usually come in late they have particularly low curation returns, and we'd be better off with more root posts. I'm going to combat that by opening up applications tomorrow, I think, and get some new users in.

The new 10 SBI reward for leveling up doesn't seem to be inspiring anybody. Lots of people in level-up territory who could benefit from that, and get bigger votes.

As part of the curation fiddling I figured out how to vote on root posts made from Musing without breaking the bot, so I've added that back in. I also fixed a bug that was preventing Vimm posts from being voted.

I'm building up a list of things I want the new voter to do, and figuring out how to design that alongside the automatic stats post script. So far I haven't been doing any of this by database storage, so I have to build that part from scratch, as it's going to be necessary going forward.
