Sargon's first stats post
The Mesopotamians is a project to use ongoing support and gamification to encourage account growth and build a class of community-minded minnows and eventually dolphins. This project is run by @tcpolymath.
@m-sargon Is launching today to support users at Level 2, to grow their accounts to 1100 SP. It currently supports these users:

The bot is up and I'm about to do the delegation.
With voting power running high and a weekend coming when I can't watch the accounts closely I'm adding @helpie (and voted a couple of old posts to get through the night).
In doing so I discovered that I can't manually vote with this account on Steemit. Fortunately Busy works. Will have to investigate that bug.
I was looking for a post to upvote for this account to use some VP. Might be a good time for a post ;)
One thing to consider, you could always hit a comment or two to use up some VP...just like I am right now.
Sargon's typically going to post on Saturday and Monday, as I have a schedule set up so I'm posting twice a day overall, although half of them or so are currently just builders for the inactive levels. If you're looking for something to upvote you can see the other active posts by hitting #themesopotamians tag.
I've been hitting comments sometimes. Mostly this account hasn't been a problem although it's been running close a little bit. You guys are more consistent posters than the smaller users.
Good to know to look at the tag. Want to give some back to help the other groups grow faster and help you reduce dependence on leases. If you ever need a suggestion on low SP members that are active let me know, we tend to have a few featured on a regular basis that I'd like to see get powered up.
Very excited about this project...not only because I was chosen but because what it can do for steemit. The balance of power needs to spread over more individuals to help with the long term sustainability and growth of steemit. This is a great way to do just that building members from their early days and then having new levels of support as they progress.
Oh yes, it's an awesome idea. And something worth emulating. I feel that the more community oriented dolphins are out there, the better for the newbies, minnows, redfish, etc.

For sure we need more community oriented people out there of all sizes. Look forward to this group becoming stronger and our efforts reaching more and more people.
i agree! it is a very insightful initiative to focus on the dolphin level, for the platform's longer term sustainability and growth, as you say : )
supporting new comers, which, i believe have very high DISengagement rate should have a net positive effect on onboarding experience of a given new steemian. i dont have statistics, of course, but i would bet that there is currently quite a high ratio of new comers giving up on the platform, soon after they joined up.
empowering that first tier of support system to, in turn, help the smaller fishes, would have far reaching and rippling positive effects !!!

@paulag is very good with stats and has pulled numbers showing the break points of when most leave and there seems to be a huge point of no return at 60 days (Paula correct me if I'm remembering this incorrect). So if efforts can be made to onboard people and support them during those first 60 days I feel that is an effort worth pursuing.
Picture if you can get a newbie to commit to powering up all earnings during the first 60 days as long as you support them. No steem or SBD leaves the platform and their account is in pure growth mode. A habit is formed with how they treat their earnings, they will have exposure so hopefully some real followers, and guidance on how to have long term success/avoiding scams/and so forth.

Have been anticipating and closely watching this since I got selected! Today is a good Monday! Haven't looked forward to a Monday in a long time!
We have seen in many countries, USA included, what happens when the values and stability of the middle class population is destroyed. Building a middle class is not going to be an easy thing, but I am happy to try and help, and as others below and above have mentioned, keeping people on steemit means they will need help in those first two months.

Wow! Being part of this team is awesome! Seems all of us are bringing in a lot of enthusiasm and high spirit. Of course there are practical ideas we need to work out to support the Steemit community. But for now, loving the excitement!!
