THE DIARY GAME: 10 AUGUST, 2020: Monday dawned on us
Lately time roll by fast, days into week within moment and life goes by in a twinkle of an eye. Have been trying to keep up with achieving all my set goals for the month and it seem time is rushing by giving me little to make do with.
It's Monday, the first work day of the week and since the lockdown hasn't been completely relaxed, work hasn't started for me. Been a youth corper and serving in a Private secondary school, the effect of schools not been open yet has put a lot of us into having more spree time to us.
Woke up early, went about doing house chores I have no plan of heading out today so I'll be working on drawing. Drawing is an art I practice when I'm tensed or stressed. I figured it has always helped me relax before playing games came into view.
I had a sketch book I documented some drawings I have made in the past, not too good cos I am not an art guru but I try out my pencil designs and it meets my satisfaction. The book got missing when I moved to my place of assignment, must be the reason I have drawn in a while.
The image in my head is of a beast, remember the movie Beauty and the Beast?? The hideous creature that later turned out to be the King, yes that was what came to mind, maybe not with too obvious horns, not sure I might be able to draw out that well.
Started by tracing out what came to mind with a pencil, inserting eyes, nose, a not too long tongue and hideous teeth. The sketch took about 30 minutes to get it done on a white piece of paper.
Then came the part of coloring. That took me a while to find a rhythm that suited me, wanted a scary thingy and I kept matching the colors appropriate to each section of the face.
With much effort I got what I was itching for, took me two hours to get it all done, made lunch afterwards, then dinner, chatted with friends, wrote my diary and sleep took over.
Not my usual kinda day but I loved every moment.
