THE DAIRY GAME: 20/09/2020: EXPENSIVE FUNERAL

I woke up yesterday to witness one of the most expensive funerals, or should i say party, in recent times at my district, more precisely my school compound.

The decor speaks for itself. 2 Beer stands were erected. A kebab stand was there and a stand for locally brewed drinks like zonkom , pito, elewonyo and sobolo . These are highly nutritious drinks that helped to reduce the covid19 pandemic.

The kebab stand was highly patronised than most of the stands. 'Funeralists ' cured for their turns and this was an eyesaw. Did i hear someone said social distance? It was not observed.

The Beer stand was not left empty as people kwaffed and rekwaffed since it was in abundance.

'Funeralists' were treated to a live band stand and, come and see for yourself, dancing of all levels prevailed. The school playing field was parked to the brim with fleet of cars depicting a rich feneral.

For about an hour into the funeral proper torrential rains set in. If it was a poor man's funeral believe you me we would have seen the end of it but people defiled the rains and continued their activities as if they took the rains for showers of blessing. They say in my local parlance that ' A man's funeral shows how he lived on Earth.'
Almost all those who matter in my town were there to grace the occasion . The member of parliament, district chief executive , the chief and all their entorage were present.

People gave donations to the bereved . The amount were so huge that most people kept thier megre donations to themselves and enjoyed the booty as it came their way. Food were served to every Dick ,Tom and Henry. And there was more than enough drinks to throw around.

Funerals of this calibre do not usually come by in my side of town where people seem to be enjoying themselves rather than mourning the deceased. This is indeed an EXPENSIVE FUNERAL.

We don't look forward to getting these type of funerals because we don't wish people dead.
