Now is the time for all the good people to come to the aid of this platform - inspiration by @c0ff33a ☕️

It feels like everyone is a little down, just like the value of Steem right now. But it's good to see you all posting, working away and sharing that special unique content that constantly draws new people in. I have managed to reach many posts this weekend, which you will know if you read through my blog because every one of the resteems is a post I have enjoyed reading, upvoted and left a worthy comment on.

I really don't advise my resteem approach, it makes it really hard to find your own posts amongst the resteems and even the Steemit official guidance for users says not to resteem too often because it looses your content! I'm fortunate that you are all very tenacious, and some how find my posts despite my best efforts to hide them. And just like you all, I appreciate it when I receive a nice comment on my post.

Comments really are the life blood of Steemit, everyone appreciates a nice comment and even constructive criticism as long as it is done appropriately. But there is a darker side of comments, when they are used to spam, abuse or bully others it's a negative aspect that can spread throughout Steemit. Every blog post and comment on here is an advertisement for the blogging platform Steemit and the cryptocurrency Steem - if someone finds a post of what appears very good quality, and then finds an abusive and derogatory comment below - how would that encourage them to join this platform? When every day someone new says retention is down and this platform is struggling to draw in new users, it really doesn't surprise me if people can be allowed to go around leaving abusive comments and nobody really seems interested in doing anything to stop it.

I don't think there is any benefit to stooping to the low level of others though, keeping the moral high ground is far more important. So if you encounter abusive or derogatory comment don't encourage whoever might have left it, just support the original poster and leave them an appropriate comment to show you appreciated their work. I think it is the most important aspect of this social blogging site that we support the posts of others, including a comment where possible it helps demonstrate the social and friendly atmosphere we are all working so hard to forge.

It is worth noting as well the importance of using original content in posts, be that your own writing or own images where possible - otherwise always provide the source of the graphic or text used and be careful not to used copyrighted material - there are plenty or Royalty Free sites for images such as https://pixabay.com or https://www.pexels.com. Choosing images from a Google image search is not appropriate, the majority of these are subject to copyright and should not be used in your posts - which are commercial and you are earning from the use of the content within it. If you are using copyright images in your post, the only option is to decline rewards on the post.

It's nice to be important, but it is far more important to be nice. Together we are a strong community of like minded individuals sharing a wide variety of unique content, keep working together to support each other and as many people you can find the time to reach out to.

The SBD Rewards from this post when it pays out will be donated to @youarehope to help with all the incredible charitable works they do.

The greatest challenge we face on Steemit is getting our posts seen, I have always believed the simplest and best value way of doing this is by commenting on the blog posts of others, the more you engage people and interact with them the greater the chance they will visit your own blog and return the favour.

Excellent points @c0ff33a! Something i've adhered to since coming on this platform is if i find info not accurate or negative in nature, maybe something i do not agree with i just move on. why contribute to something i do not agree with, just to cause negativity? its much better to find info that rings true and helps others. right on! great advice and positivity you are putting out there. thank you

Thank you so much, that really is the best way to approach life in general or at least I think anyway. Positivity prevails, I never really understood the minority that seem to revel in making life miserable for people but better leave them alone then indulge them.

@c0ff33a yay positivity!! i love some of your latest posts too tho i haven't had a chance to comment, i actually do catch them and read them, or fast scrolll he he
making life miz for someone is not a good thing at all. yes leave alone... run far far away .. :)

Receiving positive comments is truly the best incentive to keep on Steemin'! Thanks for encouraging people to comment. It is the best way to make friends and make your account grow. Comment, comment, comment!

It’s the perfect win win situation, commenting on posts makes people happy that someone has read and enjoyed reading the content they worked hard on - and leaving a comment is a great way to remind people about you and your blog. What goes around comes around, happy fun involvement and interaction drives us all forward.

It does! I just won 15 SBD from good-karma for being the top commenter on @esteem this month! Making comments pays off in lots of ways!

Hell of a post!!! I loved: "It's nice to be important, but it is far more important to be nice." You very thoughtfully said it like it is.

Thank you very much, I forgot where I first came across that gem but it has stuck with me for many years. It is important though to remember we are only as good as the people who support us - I think too many Chase people with big SP in the hope of getting a nice big upvote back. I prefer the reverse, support the smaller growing accounts because it in the future when they are whales they might remember me and think kindly of me.

This was great @c0ff33a and I got fussed at for resteeming too much in the beginning. I had a habit of resteeming every post I upvoted and my work got moved down the line. I understand that conflict... I just want to support my peeps in any way I can, I do find that to be a kind of design flaw with the platform. And the comments!! I do LOVE the comments! I'm still learning to juggle this and my other life lol... Steemit seems to take a lot of time and being busy to start, I fall behind on keeping up with commenting or responding to comments.

It's nice to be important, but it is far more important to be nice.

I agree with this and I've seen some not so nice comments on Steemit recently and it's a shame to me that this happens. We are all here just trying to make it, there's no reason to be mean. But as the world is, there will always be a bunch of bad eggs waiting to smell up the place. I choose to ignore it and not entertain that type of behavior. It's just not worth it.

Resteems are my biggest head breaker on this platform. I'd love to support people by doing a Resteem, but I hate ruining my carefully built and consistent timeline. I also tend to not follow people who Resteem a lot. It's so hard already to keep up with posts! Let alone posts from the timelines of others! :')

I'm slowly thinking about doing a 'Shout out Saturday' sort of thing where I instead of Resteeming can highlight some peepz or posts I feel deserve a bit of 'extra'. Who knows. I'm also hopeful the Hivemind updates might provide some solutions for how Resteems are displayed on the platform, they promised at least we can 'un-resteem', and who knows, a design update might also provide us with a side bar where the Resteems and/or activity on 'secondary' apps land?!

Just being hopeful and guessing a bit. Anyway, keep up the positivity indeed, I'm not down at least :D #happysteeming

Thank you very much my new favorite account on Steemit - I took through your blog and your posts are all quite perfect, and the be honest your are exactly on point about Resteems. I perfectly understand what you say about following people who resteem to much, for me it just became a way to share the content I enjoy because it is still so hard to find posts on here.

Hive and HF 20 will bring many new things, hopefully some of which will make it easier for us to share the content we enjoy while still allowing people to see our own posts.

The important thing though is to do what we enjoy doing, it’s our blog and our blog experience - if we all approached it the same way it would quickly get dull.

I'm going to print this and hang it on my wall - appreciated!

Thank you very much my new favorite account on Steemit - I took through your blog and your posts are all quite perfect

And indeed, our diversity makes this platform so much fun to be on - I'd never be able to enjoy a Facebook like site again where all is predictable and formatting is so limited you start mindlessly scrolling through your feed because the same friends keep on making the same kind of updates over and over again :-)

Am going to wait very (im)patiently for all the upcoming updates - From all the gossip around town I expect a few of them to come within only weeks. Yay!

Ah, I did that on my phone while sitting in the garden catching the last of the sun after work - the auto correct kills me every time, but at least you got my meaning ;-)

I really do think the best is yet to come, so many people on here are so inspiring - I won't try and mention them because you will already know or find out - and when you have so many driven and creative people alongside a platform that has so much potential - it has to make sense.

And yes, you did just remind me I need to go and comment on those posts of yours I admired earlier!

LOL! Don't worry about all the commenting you think needs to be done, I'm already wearing a big smile on my face from this comment alone :D

English is not my native language, so I will overlook many mistakes made, I didn't even see it until you mentioned it ;')

I'm truly hopeful for a bright and amazing future on Steemit, if I'm already having this much fun now... It can only get better! <3 Can't wait to meet more of the creative people around here :D

I hear you and it seem like as the steem goes down so does the mood for some.
I have never been here for that reason so it doesn't hit me so hard. Is it great to se your posts get high? .... Sure!
But to get comments and appreciation for the work You do.. THAT is for me the biggest reward.
Also engage and get to know people is the best thing, have been blessed with so many amazing people in my life.
It's so easy to give up but if you stick around and don't give up... Then you will se results.
Also have a humble heart and be supportive.
Treat others the way you want to be treated!

Well written Robert, you are so amazing and has a big heart 🤗❤️🤗

Thank you very much, as always the voice of wisdom and care, love and especially hugs 🤗

Treat others the way you want to be treated

This is perfect, and so true it is simple to grow respect - just be respectful of others wishes and needs.

Thank you for always being there for us all, I know you are still not so well so it means even more you were able to leave this wonderful comment ☺️

Great post! You made good points! Possibility is the key!

Stay Positive, stay happy and keep on supporting each other. For the longest time you have totally supported me and always been a bastion of comments - working hard on your own posts and also commenting on so many. You are a fine example of a model Steemian.

Thank you @c0ff33a for your kindness!! ;)

I’m not stopping no matter what. I enjoy both communities that I belong to and the people are great. I do miss the amount of interaction with the price being so low.....hope it changes soon, but I’m in it for the long haul my friend.👍

You are certainly top of my interaction list, I have no idea how you manage it between all your wood carving work and stacking silver but it’s very commendable you really are a shining example for people to follow.

I don’t know why the interaction dips with Steem value , you would think people would want to work harder to pull an audience in.

Thank you my friend. Keeping up isn’t easy at all, but I really enjoy the people in both steemsilvergold and thealliance. So I do what I have to do to keep as committed as possible. If I can post daily and comment daily anyone can. Thank you for the kind words.👍
