I actually do read the post, sometimes I do comment, but then again you know that.
The Downvote system is broken, has always been broken, and until it is fixed it will always hold steem back from becoming a mainstream coin. Of course that is just my opinion. A small explanation follows.
If I as a business owner wanted to start to use Steem Block Chain as an additional exposure channel for advertising my products, I would need to ensure that I had more SP than any of my competition could call on, so that in itself makes it very hard to use steem as a product exposure channel. All my work in advertising, promoting, and using steem block chain to get exposure for my product could be simple greyed out by my competition down voting my post. Plain, simple easy to do if you have a lot of SP, or can call on the masses to do the down voting for you then you can claim your hands are clean.
One group of products, for business use case of Steem Token, for people to promote themselves or there products has just been shown how broken the down vote system is. This can happen with any other business endeavor an individual wants to try starting up.
I myself do not like the dlike post, I rarely vote on an actifit post, and a lot of other promotional type post, but they are targets now for down votes. Steem is not a business friendly token, and until the Down Vote system is fixed it is my opinion steem will never be a business token , and always relegated to the semi social side of internet lifes experience. I still have hope it can mainstream one day, and I am not totally down of Steem Token, it is just the reality of my view point and opinion, from a non-business, non-crypto, non-expert in any thing, just a casual user of the Steem Block Chain, because it has fewer troll type activities than most other social sites, but seems to becoming more mainstreamish social type place like toxic facebook, and youtube.
Yup there are a few people who do read my post regular. I was more directing toward the general user in Steem will not have their post seen and using myself as an example.
I agree. the present system deters anyone from joining the platform
When they removed the page view counter from the pages that was when I first started to question the viability of Steem as a Business Token. The reason's given for it were patently false. page counters and page view software has been around for a very long time, a lot of the advertisers use it, and even google is capable of using it with out it being gamed, But with the bid bots, and the large number of votes, and the "Promotion" factor, it revealed the lies, no views on the pages of so called trending post.
