The Art of Parenting!
Whether we like it or not, once we're parents, we have one of the toughest and most important jobs in the world. The funny thing is, we can go to high school to learn our three R's and college to broaden our horizons and learn more about our future careers, but nowhere is there any real formal education for our work. incredibly important and difficult as a parent. raising and shaping our next generation.
So what do we do? I'm glad you asked the question. As parents, we have to work very hard to determine who we are and what our parenting goals are. By figuring out who we are, we'll be able to better regulate ourselves and deal with those times when our kids just want to do their own thing and not ours. In addition, we will also be able to be more aware of how our past experiences with our own parents influence our current parenting role and where it helps our family and where it hurts in our daily interactions with our own children.
Understanding what makes us happy and what motivates us actually helps our children understand themselves better, as well as what makes them happy and understand what motivates them too. The beautiful thing about this journey of discovery is that we learn more about ourselves because we also learn more about our children while making this world a better place. By the way, maybe we can finally better understand why our parents did some of the things they did as well.
