I know this is alarming, but I think the author only sees the worst in it. Imagine you have an anonoumus open source chip which you can program to hold a custom crypto address for paying. Doesn't sound that scary anymore.
Technology is not the devil, if used right.
Right depends who is in control of it. Except those who own the intellectual property of that technology have other things in store for you.
