Our trip to Phi Phi Islands! Part #2

in #thailand7 years ago

Last night was a long night at work and just got up a few hours ago so I'll keep this post shorter on text and let the photos speak more about our adventure to this beautiful place!

A look around Phi Phi

Since it was our second time here we had a few spots we wanted to visit so on the first day we rented a boat and went to see Maya Bay and Lipeh Lagoon. Last time we went to Maya Bay, boats weren't going in since the weather wasn't good and the waves were pretty big so we had to go through the back side. There was a lot of swimming involved between rocks while waves were pushing us towards them, people falling.. it was pure chaos but we got there just before the tropical storm arrived and had about 20-30 minutes to swim and have a glance at that beautiful place. Because nature was against the tourists, the beach was pretty empty which is not common at all for Maya Bay. This time we arrived there and people weren't even allowed to swim in the water, it was PACKED! There were probably 400-500 people on this little bay and boats were surrounding it. We decided to do some snorkelling there instead and move to the Lagoon. I was a lot more excited about the Pileh Lagoon to be honest.

We stopped at this spot in Maya Bay for some snorkelling.

The marine life here is quite lively but not anywhere near as colourful as it was in Lipe. A lot of the same fishes but the corals were completely different.

More photos of my back.. this time in Pileh Lagoon. This place left the biggest impression in me last time we came to the Islands. It is so beautiful but just as Maya Bay - it was packed. Boats coming in and out in lines.. it was just too much. Last year I think we saw only two other boats when we went in and out of it. Unfortunately we only made a round and left. Now we stopped here for a good hour of swimming completely separated from all the traffic around.

Nat really wanted to jump off the boat. She asked for this every time ever since she saw a guy that did it in Lipe. So we did and it seems I haven't forgotten how to do flips.

We really wanted to try kayaking around our resort. The beach there is beautiful and In my opinion, the best on Phi Phi Don (next to a resort or hotel that is). We got up early in the morning and got on kayaking. Very shortly after we got too tired and even though we didn't really get anywhere, turned around and returned  to the beach.

This is a photo from Nui Bay. We couldn't visit this beach last time even though it was on our list. The waves on that side of the island made it impossible to reach with a small boat. This time we were really close by (10 min or so) and we went there on our last day. Out of all the beaches in Phi Phi this one is probably my favourite! It is so beautiful and calm. It has a really small shore but because it isn't part of any day trips there aren't any people around. There was only 1 more group other than us and they left awhile after we arrived. I do recommend going there if you ever find yourself in Phi Phi!

Hey, was there a new one. Did I miss your new post? Hmmm... seems so.
I'm flying to Thailand in the next 1-2 years for sure.

Hell yeah! I'll already be there so will be waiting haha.

Ha! Love the flip off of the boat. After the one standing on the bow, it almost looks like you hit something and the boat stopped short.

Haha it does look like it. :)
